1. A Mop
For this first costume, all you need is a long-sleeved shirt, a pair of leggings, and an old mop head or broom head (yes, really). The leggings will be the handle and the mop head will be the “mop.” Just attach them to the shirt in any way that works for you. Voila! You are now a mop.

As much as I love Halloween, I’m not a huge fan of dressing up. But, I do love to celebrate in fun ways and I love sharing tips with you all, so I put together 7 easy Halloween costumes for cleaning fans.
This is an easy costume to pull together with items you probably already have at home. You’ll need black pants, a long sleeve shirt and a vest or jacket. If you don’t have these items or don’t have them in black, try checking out a thrift store for low-cost options. You can also use any style of pants that you like. For the hat, either use a ball cap or make your own using a paper plate and elastic string. Punch holes in the sides of the plate and thread the elastic through them to create the hat style you want. You can also add any other accessories that you’d like such as gloves and/or goggles (I highly recommend goggles!).
If you’re a cleaning fanatic, get into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as one of these seven easy costumes.
1. A Scarecrow: All you need is some old clothes, hay, and a bit of makeup. If you don’t have old clothes, buy some at a thrift store or discount retailer. The clothes should be oversized so that they look like they would fit a scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz.
2. Jaws: Cut out some teeth from white cardboard and tape them to a pair of glasses. You can also wear a swimsuit or go shirtless to complete the look.
3. Willy Wonka: Wear whatever you want, but carry around a lollipop to complete the look.
4. A Ghost: Cut two holes in an old sheet and wear it over your head so you look like a ghost with two eyes and a mouth. If you have kids, they can use this costume too!
5. Colonel Sanders: Wear all white and add a white mustache and goatee made from cotton balls or white cardstock paper. Add some glasses for an authentic Colonel Sanders look!

This one is perfect if you have a few minutes and a headband lying around the house. Just attach a bunch of pipe cleaners with clothespins to any headband, and voila! You’ve got yourself a broom. (Don’t feel like making your own? Amazon actually sells an adult broomstick costume for $20.)
