8 Great Halloween Costumes In Movies, Not On The Shelves

I’ve been dressing up for Halloween since I was five, and over the years I’ve had some pretty epic costumes. But nothing beats the costumes you see in movies. Some of the most iconic costumes we think of at Halloween are from movies.

I’m not talking about your run-of-the-mill store bought stuff. No one is impressed that you bought a Superman costume, or a Batman costume, or a Wonder Woman costume anymore. It’s more impressive to take it to the next level and actually make your costume, like what they do in the movies.

Here are my top 8 favorite movie costumes:

1. The Mask (The Mask)

2. Edward Scissorhands (Edward Scissorhands)

3. The Joker (Batman)

4. Lola Bunny (Space Jam)

5. Marty McFly (Back to the Future II)

6. Thing 1 and Thing 2 (Cat in the Hat)

7. Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice)

8. Michael Myers (Halloween)

Although Halloween is over, we thought it was only appropriate to spread the word on some amazing costumes seen in movies.

1. Lola Bunny (Space Jam) – Lola Bunny is a cartoon character from the movie Space Jam starring Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. She is a free-spirited, funny bunny who has a crush on Bugs Bunny. The costume is simple to make and you can wear athletic shorts and shoes with a tank top with bunny ears.

2. Dorothy Gale (The Wizard of Oz) – Dorothy Gale is a fictional character created by L. Frank Baum, author and composer of children’s books set in the Land of Oz. In addition to her yellow brick road outfit, she has a cute white/blue dress for when she gets back home in Kansas.

3. Edward Scissorhands (Edward Scissorhands)- Edward Scissorhands is the main character of Tim Burton’s 1990 Gothic romance film Edward Scissorhands. If you are looking for a unique costume this Halloween, then this one is for you! All that you have to do is wear black pants, black shirt, gloves, boots and find someone to create your hair piece!

4. The Cat in the Hat (The Cat in the Hat)-

Halloween is a time for fun costumes and pretending to be someone else for the night. But if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to stand out in a crowd, your costume options are often limited to what you can buy at a store.

Thankfully, there are plenty of crazy costumes in movies that will inspire you to think outside the box and get creative. Here are eight of our favorites.

Lola Bunny (“Space Jam”)

Athletes aren’t usually known for their style, but Lola Bunny always looks ready to play ball…and then go on a date afterward! This outfit is perfect for the women who want something sexy without being a “sexy cop.”

Just wear purple shorts or yoga pants with a purple tank top or t-shirt, add some knee socks and sneakers, and then make bunny ears from pipe cleaners or headbands that you can find at any hardware store. You can use face paint to draw her whiskers and nose, or just take along a mask for when you need it.

Halloween movies aren’t all about the guys. Lola Bunny is a character from the 1996 film Space Jam. She’s a tough, sweet and sexy lady who can play some serious basketball. Her style is unique, so your costume should be too.

Start with a tank top and pair of denim shorts. A black belt with a large silver buckle and a pair of thigh-highs are also necessary. White sneakers are best, but you can wear any color you want.

Lola’s hair is important, so if your hair isn’t long enough, you can buy an extension piece or wig. You’ll also need to dye it her signature shade of orange-red. Add a pair of bunny ears to the mix and you’ve got one seriously sexy costume.

Every year, as Halloween draws near, the same question comes up: “What am I going to be?”

The options are fairly limited. You either find something in your closet that resembles a character or you go to your local costume shop and buy something there. However, if you’re looking for original ideas, you should look no further than the big screen.

Obviously, it’s not always easy to recreate costumes from films; sometimes they don’t lend themselves to a real-life situation. But for others, we’ve found some simple ideas that don’t require a lot of craftiness or money. Here are 8 great movie costumes that are perfect for Halloween: Lola Bunny From “Space Jam”

It’s a classic: the macho man who finds himself in a compromising situation. We’ve seen it a thousand times, from the Three Stooges to Mel Brooks. The trick is to make it funny and not campy or degrading.

What makes Lola Bunny’s costume so great is the way she plays it up. She knows how absurd and ridiculous it is, but she doesn’t seem to mind. She just kind of shrugs, like “Yeah, I know, but that’s all I got.”

That confidence makes this scene work. She knows she looks ridiculous, but she also knows she looks hot. It’s also a great setup for Bugs. She comes in with this ridiculous costume, and then he shows up as her “pappy.” It doesn’t really get any better than that.
