Be Like Moana

Moana is the newest Disney princess. She’s not your typical princess (which is awesome). She’s got a mind of her own and doesn’t let anyone or anything stop her from achieving her goals. She’s inspiring, empowering, and all around wonderful. As we’re sure you know, Moana’s movie just premiered in theaters, so you can now go watch this badass babe in action!

Since the release of Moana, we’ve been totally inspired by this new heroine. So if you’ve been feeling like being a Disney princess isn’t realistic in the real world, think again! The following list will show you how to be like Moana and be a Disney princess IRL.

1) Don’t let others tell you what to do

Just because someone else thinks they should be calling the shots doesn’t mean that they should. Be individualistic and don’t let anyone tell you what to do.

2) Make your dreams a reality

Moana made it her mission to save Motunui from its impending doom. Had she not done this, she would never have been able to fulfill her destiny as a wayfinder. If your dreams are important to you, don’t give up on them! You should work hard to make them come true.

“Moana” is Disney’s newest animated movie, and it’s a hit. It’s already broken box office records, and its star, Auli’i Cravalho, just turned 16.

One of the best things about Disney princesses is that they’re all different. Some are feisty, some are kind, and some are just plain brave. No matter what their defining characteristics are, though, each princess has a quality that makes you want to be like them. Moana has a lot of qualities that make her my favorite Disney princess ever — and if you’re in love with her too, these 12 tips will help you be like Moana IRL.

Moana is a girl on a mission. She’s determined to find Maui and save her island, but no one (especially her dad) believes she can do it. Instead of taking this to heart, though, she uses the doubt as fuel for her trip. She never lets anyone tell her she can’t do something — even if it’s Maui himself. Being strong-willed is hard sometimes (I’m not going to lie), but if you’re determined enough and don’t listen to the haters around you, it’s totally doable!

Moana is sassy AF. She doesn’t put up with crap from anyone, especially not Maui. When he starts doubting himself after his first failure at saving Moana, she tells him off in the best way

Moana is changing the game for Disney princesses.

When you think of a “Disney princess,” you likely think of a beautiful girl with long blond hair and a pink dress who needs saving by a handsome prince. But the newest Disney princess, Moana, doesn’t need saving, she’s saving her people — and she’s breaking the mold for what it means to be a Disney princess.

Here are some ways you can be like Moana IRL:

1. Don’t be afraid to go after your dreams.

2. Don’t let anyone hold you back.

3. If your friends don’t believe in you, they’re not real friends.

4. Take control of your own destiny.

5. When in doubt, follow the ocean’s lead.

6. Be confident AF in yourself, even if others don’t understand you (yet).

7. If someone criticizes you for being different, use that criticism as fuel to prove them wrong — then celebrate! (Bonus points if it’s someone who used to criticize you.)

8. Prove to people that women can do anything men can do (and better).

9. And when we say “anything,” we really mean anything! (Even singing!)
