So let’s get started!

Have you ever wanted to be Barbie? Well, do I have the blog for you!

Barbie costumes are a great way to show off your figure and recreate one of the most iconic characters in history. But where to begin?

This blog will provide step-by-step instructions on how to make your very own Barbie costume, complete with tips and tricks!

Step 1: Get pink fabric, lots of it. It’s best if you get a thin material because it will be easier to cut. You’ll want enough to cover your whole body in a full body suit. Don’t forget the head!

Step 2: Cut out your body suit shape. I would recommend looking at some existing patterns or tracing yourself onto the fabric and cutting it out that way. Try on the suit every once in awhile and see how it fits and how much needs to be altered. Make sure there’s enough space for your chest, as we’ll want this covered up later on. Once you’ve completed this step, congratulations! You should now have a full body suit that covers you from head-to-toe in pink fabric!

Step 3: Now we need to create our Barbie hair! This can be done by going online and finding an image of Barbie’s face and

I decided to go with a white dress and design my own barbie print! I printed the barbie logo on a sticker paper and cut the circles out. Then, I used a piece of transfer tape to place them on my dress. Once I had all the circles placed, I carefully removed the transfer tape leaving behind the barbie logo circles.

To complete the look, I added blue tulle underneath the skirt of the dress and also used some tulle for wings on my back.

I made these wings by cutting out two large heart shapes from some cardboard. Then I covered both sides in white fabric. I hot glued a piece of elastic in between both hearts at the top to make it easy to wear. Then I hot glued tulle over each wing.

So, you want to be Barbie for Halloween? Or maybe you are just dressing up as the iconic doll for a costume party. Whatever the reason, it’s important that you get your look right and you can do so by following a few simple tips when designing your own Barbie costume.

After all, becoming a human version of Barbie is no easy task!

Barbie is an American icon known by young and old. She has been around since 1959, when she was created by Ruth Handler. She was originally named after Handler’s daughter who was also named Barbara and is based on a German doll named Bild Lilli. In 1959, Handler suggested to Mattel executives that they should produce a three dimensional version of the fashion doll that would appeal to little girls. Mattel took her advice and initially produced a blonde version of the doll. The first African-American Barbie debuted in 1980, followed by Hispanic Barbie in 1982 and Asian Barbie in 1988. Since then there have been numerous specialty dolls representing different nationalities and occupations as well as Ken, Skipper and many others.

Barbie is not only known for her beauty but also for her fabulous wardrobe. She always has the latest looks from high fashion designers around the world. Her stylish ensembles include

Preface by Barb:

It’s a fact that all girls between the ages of 5 to 105 love Barbie. We had the opportunity to design a costume for Barbie at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City last April. Because of our amazing experience and the overwhelming response we received from you guys on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, we decided to make this tutorial so you can make your own Barbie costume!

You will need:

– 1 yard of pink fabric (you can find this at any fabric store or Joann’s)

– 2 yards of tulle (you can find this at any fabric store or Joann’s)

Step 1: Cut your pink fabric in half, then fold it in half. Draw a triangle (use the photo as a guide). Then cut out your triangle. You now have 2 triangles! (photos 2 & 3)

Step 2: Pin your triangles together with the right sides facing each other. Sew together.

Step 3: Turn your top inside out and sew up the sides of your top like I did in photos 4 & 5.

**Step 1: *Braid the hair*

Start by braiding your hair into two french braids (or fishtail braids) on either side of your head. This will make it easier to work with the rest of your hair later on.

**Step 2: *Ballerina bun*

Take a small section of hair and wrap it around the elastic. Pin it with bobby pins. Then, take the rest of your hair and twist it into a ballerina bun shape and pin it in place accordingly. If you want to add more volume, consider backcombing your hair before pulling it up!

**Step 3: *Glittery makeup*

Because Barbie is a doll, you should have doll-like makeup, which is exactly why glittery/shimmery eye shadow is a must! Apply some pink, blue or purple shimmery eyeshadow and pair it with some mascara and liquid eyeliner for that perfect cat eye winged look! For the lips, you can use a light pink or nude lip colour. Finally, apply some blush to your cheeks to give yourself that rosy look! As for the eyebrows, simply fill them in with an eyebrow pencil in order to achieve that super groomed look!
