If you’re like me, you love the idea of making your own Halloween costumes. This year I decided to make a fairy costume for my daughter and I have to tell you, it was a lot easier than I thought. We had so much fun doing it together and it turned out pretty cute too. For my daughter’s fairy wings, we used some lightweight cardboard that I found at the craft store. You will also need some white fabric (or any color really), a glue gun, spray paint, glitter and some ribbon or elastic to tie them on with.
First we traced our shape onto the cardboard and cut out two identical pieces. Then we glued two pieces of fabric over each piece of cardboard. Next we spray painted them white and sprinkled glitter over them while the paint was still wet so they would have a little sparkle to them. When they were completely dry, I wove some ribbon through the top so they could be tied on behind her shoulders.
