DIY Freddy Krueger Costume

DIY Freddy Krueger Costume: a guide on how to make your own Freddy Krueger Costume.

Everyone loves Halloween and we all love watching Halloween movies. It’s always fun going to Halloween parties, especially when you’re dressed up as your favorite character from a movie. One of the best horror movies for Halloween is the Nightmare on Elm Street series, about a vengeful murderer who comes back to life in dreams. The main character, Freddy Krueger, is so popular that everyone wants to go as him for Halloween. But since the costume isn’t sold in stores, you’ll have to do it yourself. Here’s how you can make your own Freddy Krueger costume:

Red & Green Striped Sweater ($10-20)

Brown Fedora Hat ($5-10)

Brown Suspenders ($2-5)

Black or Brown Pants ($15-20)

Black Dress Shoes ($15-30)

Bladed Gloves (or pair of old gardening gloves with metal attached) ($5-10)*

The most important thing is to get the right costume and some accessories, blood, and makeup.

What is needed for a good Freddy krueger costume?

A good freddy krueger costume requires some specific clothing items. The most important part of the costume is the red and green striped sweater, which can be found in many stores or at least in the store’s Halloween section.

The second most important part of your freddy krueger costume will be his glove. For this, you can either use a pair of gardening gloves and add some razor blades or fingernails or buy a ready-made glove from any costume store. For added realism, you can always add fake blood to your glove.

What You’ll Need

1. Red and black long sleeved shirt or sweater

2. Black pants or jeans

3. Red and black striped sweater (or you can cut strips into a shirt)

4. Old brown fedora

5. Latex mask of some sort (Freddy’s face, skull, etc.)

6. Prop knife/blade glove (try eBay)

7. Black shoes

8. Fake blood or paint

1. Wear the red and black stripped sweater over the top of the red and black long sleeved shirt or sweater. It should look like Freddy’s torso from Nightmare on Elm Street if it’s done correctly. The more ragged the better! If you don’t have a striped sweater, try cutting strips in to one of your shirts instead.

2. Cut up a pair of old black jeans so that they’re ragged at the bottom as well as have a few holes in them – this is what Freddy wears on his lower half usually, although he does wear tracksuit bottoms sometimes instead! If you want to go for that instead, just cut up an old pair of track
