Godzilla is one of the most famous Japanese movie monsters. The original Godzilla was a frightening dinosaur-like creature that emerged from the ocean after being awakened by nuclear testing. In subsequent films, Godzilla has been both villain and hero, protector of the Earth against other monsters and alien invaders. Your child can dress as this well-known monster for Halloween or any time!

1.Use a pencil to trace your child’s hand on the back side of a piece of green felt. Cut out the hand shape with scissors and set aside.

2.Trace your child’s feet onto the back side of another piece of green felt and cut them out as well.

3.Cut approximately 1 inch off of each end of a black pipe cleaner. Fold it in half so that it forms a “V” shape and twist each end together in opposite directions to form two small claws at either end (see image). Repeat to make a total of three claws. Set aside for later use.

4.Cut out two large green circles from felt for Godzilla’s eyes, one medium circle for his nose, two small white circles for pupils, and two blue circles for irises. Set aside for later use.
