As you may have noticed, I’ve been having a lot of fun with my new toy: the Cricut Expression Electronic Cutting Machine. This thing is amazing! You can create cutouts for almost any design or shape you can imagine with the touch of a button.
The first project I tackled was a Hulk Costume for my son. I had no idea where to start, so I just started surfing the web and found some great ideas. A lot of people seemed to be making their own costumes out of paper bags and masking tape, which is fine if you’re going trick-or-treating but not so good if you want to wear it more than once (or even show it off at school). So I decided on using felt instead.
I used my Cricut machine to make all of the major pieces (the head, arms, and feet) out of green felt and then sewed them together with white thread. The belt and shorts were made from black vinyl fabric glued onto cardboard cutouts that were then attached to the body pieces with hot glue.

How to Make a Hulk Costume Mask
How to Make a Hulk Costume Mask. The Incredible Hulk is one of Marvel Comics’ most popular superheroes. The Hulk’s alter ego is Bruce Banner, who was transformed into the green-skinned monster when he was exposed to gamma radiation during a lab experiment gone awry. The Hulk is more than 7 feet tall, weighs over 1,000 pounds, has superhuman strength and speed, and is practically indestructible. You can make your own version of this superhero’s costume with cardboard and green paint.

We will start off with our very first post on how to make a hulk costume. This is one of my favorites because my husband made it for me. I was a huge comic book fan growing up and The Hulk was always one of the best!
I have to say that this one is not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of time and patience but when you are done, you will have an amazing homemade Halloween costume!
The problem with the real world is that it’s always changing. And the problem with making a hulk costume is that if you don’t do it just right, you look like a dork. Which you may be anyway, but why advertise it?
It’s not hard to make a hulk costume. You need green paint, or paint and padding. Green clothing does not work, because green clothing makes you look like a scuba diver.
The trouble is getting just the right shade of green and the just right amount of padding. If you’re too pale or too dark, or if you have too much padding so that the costume looks puffy and has no definition, then you look like a dork.
