Halloween Ideas Win the Costume Contest

If you’re short on time and creativity, here are some ideas for last-minute costumes. If you can’t make it to a store to buy a costume, here are some you can make out of things around the house. Or if you want to win a costume contest, here are some ideas for how to do that.

Wear a tiger costume this Halloween. Not only will you look great, but your friends will come running to your rescue should you ever be attacked by a tiger.

This is easy to make. First, wear a yellow shirt and yellow pants. Then, cut out two big circles and sew them onto the front of the shirt and the back of the pants. Paint some black stripes on the costume. You can also make a tail using brown felt or cloth and attach it to your belt or waistband.

Now for the headpiece, which does not have to look exactly like a tiger’s head, but should at least have big ears, whiskers and fangs. This can be constructed out of papier-maché or even cardboard covered with newspaper strips dipped in paste (made with flour and water). Use wire to make whiskers. For the ears, use white felt for the insides and paint black on the outsides. Make ears shaped like triangles and attach them to a hairband or headband (or use bobby pins if you have short hair).

To complete your costume, apply some face paint: draw two dots above your eyebrows with black eyeliner pencil; draw whiskers on either side of your nose; draw

The tiger costume is a great costume idea for the kids, but it is also a fun and easy costume for adults. Adding special effects make-up, such as whiskers, scars, or blood will make your tiger costume a little bit more realistic and a lot more scary.

This year we have the perfect DIY Tiger Costume for you to create. It’s super easy and doesn’t require that much time or materials. What it does require is creativity and some very basic sewing skills. If you know how to sew on a button, then this is definitely within your grasp (no pun intended).

Pull out that fur fabric because we’re going to show you how to turn yourself into one fierce feline. This Halloween will be one to remember. You’ll be roaring down the street in this wild animal suit.

Tigers can be ferocious, but they are also beautiful, making them a popular choice for a Halloween costume. Luckily, you don’t have to be skilled at sewing or crafting to create a convincing tiger costume. A few basic supplies and some creativity will help you win first place in your next costume contest.

Head

Measure the circumference of the head about an inch above the eyebrows with a cloth measuring tape. Cut a strip of orange felt that is as long as the circumference measurement and wide enough that it will wrap around the head once, plus 2 inches (5 cm). Wrap the felt strip around the head so that it overlaps by an inch (2.5 cm) or so and hold it in place with pins. Sew the ends together with a hand sewing needle and matching thread to form a tube of felt. Remove the pins and let your child try on the felt tube. If it is too tight, add another 1 inch (2.5 cm) to each end and sew another seam. If it is too loose, take away some length from both ends and sew another seam until it fits properly.

Cut two oval shapes from black felt that are each about 1/4 of an inch (6 mm) larger than your child’s eyes

Tiger

For this costume, you need a skin-tight orange jumpsuit, a pair of orange leggings with black stripes, and a black (or brown) belt. Cut the head and tail out of yellow felt and tie them in place using orange yarn. Use face paint to paint whiskers on your cheeks and a nose on the tip of your nose. Lastly, add white felt claws to the tips of your fingers and you’re ready to go!

1. Create a tiger skin using brown craft paper and orange tissue paper. Tear the craft paper into strips, and glue the strips together to make one large sheet of paper. Don’t worry if the seams are visible; it will give the skin a more realistic look. Cut out the tiger stripes using a template, and then attach the paper to a piece of orange tissue paper using rubber cement.

2. Create a tail by stuffing an orange sock with batting or newspaper. Secure the end of the sock with a rubber band or piece of string, and glue it to the backside of your costume’s waistband.

3. Glue ears made from construction paper to a headband, and attach two small triangles made from black construction paper beneath your eyes to create whiskers on your face.
