Prolong the life of your costume by hanging it in a cool dry place instead of folding it and putting it away in a plastic bag after each use.
How Do I Wash My Costume?
So you have just received your brand new Mario or Luigi costume in the mail, you take it out of the bag and put it on and run around the house jumping on top of everything because you are so excited. Then you realize it’s not a huge mess to clean up. Your costume is covered in dirt and sweat and needs a good cleaning. But how do you wash it properly?
The first step is to look at the care instructions that came with the costume. Most costumes can simply be thrown into a washing machine on the gentle cycle with cold water. Don’t worry about shrinkage as most materials used to make these costumes are designed to withstand heavy cleaning. Do not use bleach on any part of the costume as this may cause damage, fading or discoloration.
After pulling it out of the washer you will want to air dry it. If you try to put it in your dryer there is a chance that some smaller pieces will fall off, become loose or even melt from the high temperatures generated by dryers. It is best to hang dry all costumes on a clothes hanger if possible. Drying racks also work well for hanging up your costume after it has been washed.

Removing Bad Odor

1. Don’t use water that is hotter than 80 degrees
2. Don’t put it in the dryer
3. Don’t use any bleach or harsh chemicals
4. Do not keep it on longer than 3 minutes
5. Be careful not to stretch out the fabric by pulling too hard on it
6. Use mild soap when washing if possible (like woolite) but if not then just a little bit of dish detergent will do just fine!
7. Never use fabric softeners or dryer sheets when drying clothes! These can cause pilling and other damage over time to fabrics like cotton and polyester blends .
