First off, we will start with the helmet. The helmet is arguably one of the most important parts of the costume, so you want it to be perfect. First, create a mold out of clay or wax so that you have something to work with. Then, you’ll need to create a fiberglass backing for your helmet using fiberglass resin and a mold like the one we created earlier. It’s important not to use too much resin or else it will seep into your helmet and make it hard to see out of!
Once you’ve finished with that step, it’s time for painting! You can use any kind of paint you want as long as it doesn’t chip off easily when dry (we recommend acrylics). Just make sure not to paint over any part of your helmet that isn’t covered by resin because if water gets under there then it could cause damage to whatever material lies beneath.”
