How To Dress As Mary Poppins For Halloween

Dressing up as Mary Poppins for Halloween? We’ve got you covered. We’ve got a variety of costume ideas to choose from, and the tutorials to match.

Mary Poppins is a great character for Halloween, because she’s instantly recognizable, but not overdone like vampires or witches. You can also go as a Victorian-era nanny if you want to be just a little bit different. Or go as Bert and make it a couples costume!

You can buy a Mary Poppins costume if you don’t feel like making one (though we have tutorials for those too). You can also buy just the hat or the umbrella; these are versatile enough that they can be used for other costumes in future years. And kids will love the Mary Poppins doll that comes with an actual nanny uniform.

Halloween is coming up soon, and that means its time to get your costume ready! One of my favorite costumes is Mary Poppins. Its a great costume for any age, and can be personalized to your own taste.

So here is a quick guide on how to make a Mary Poppins costume:

1) Hat- The most important part of any Mary Poppins outfit is the hat. And it doesnt have to be a traditional one either! You can use any kind of hat, as long as its black. So really you can use whatever you want: a top hat, a baseball cap, a fedora, whatever! Just make sure its black.

Mary Poppins is a great costume for Halloween night. It’s also a good costume for dressing up as at work. If you have to dress up as something at work, like you do on Fridays, or if your office has a costume party or if you are looking for a costume to wear trick-or-treating with your children, Mary Poppins is a great choice.

To dress up as Mary Poppins, you will need to buy or make the following items:

A long skirt (like midi skirts). I prefer it in black but blue works too.

A white blouse with ruffles on the front and/or back.**

A black hat with a bow on it.**

Black shoes that have some kind of heel.**

A red umbrella with a handle made out of wood.**

A bag that hooks onto your belt loop in back, so that it hangs from your waist in front like Mary Poppins’ does (her handbag).**

The outfit above is basically what Mary Poppins wears before she goes into Bert’s chalk drawing of London on the pavement in front of 17 Cherry Tree Lane. She wears this outfit when she is first interviewed by the Banks family to become their

Mary Poppins is a classic character, whether you’re a die-hard fan of the original stories, grew up watching the movie or are gearing up to watch the new movie with Emily Blunt. She’s a pretty easy costume to make yourself and is perfect for adults and kids!

All you need is a long black skirt, long black jacket, white gloves, white hat with red ribbon and a red purse. For the umbrella I just went to goodwill and picked out one that matched the color scheme. If I had more time I probably would have spray painted it myself. Since I was going as Mary Poppins from the new movie I wanted to style my hair in an updo with curls around my face, but if you’re going for the classic look you can just leave your hair down.

If you’re dressing up for Halloween this year and haven’t picked a costume yet, consider going as Mary Poppins! It’s such a cute costume that looks great on kids and adults.

I scored a bag full of vintage clothes from a yard sale this weekend. In the bag were two skirts, one of which was a black, tweed pencil skirt with white polka dots. A few hours later, I had my Mary Poppins Halloween costume! Nothing says Mary Poppins like an adorable outfit and sensible shoes.

This year, I decided to be Mary Poppins for Halloween. The costume is really fun and easy to put together with things that most people have. This was my first attempt at a blog post, so please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

Supplies:

– White button down shirt

– Black skirt

– Red bow tie

– Black belt (optional)

– Black shoes (optional)

– White apron (optional)

– Hat (optional)

1. Put on your white button down shirt, black skirt, and red bow tie. I bought a simple one on Amazon. I would recommend something like this. If you have time, you can also make your own tie by following these directions. It’s pretty easy!

I can’t believe Halloween is almost here! It’s one of my favorite holidays of the year, and I’ve been looking forward to it for months.

It’s time for me to come up with a costume idea. I’ve tried to do this every year since I was a kid, but it’s never easy. It seems like all the good ideas have already been taken by someone else, or they’re just too expensive. Luckily my sister has recently gotten into sewing and she’s been helping me with some ideas.

Last year we made a great costume together that was inspired by Mary Poppins. It turns out you don’t need much to dress like her: just an umbrella, a hat, and some red lipstick.

The hardest part is finding an umbrella that has the right shape and size (it should be long enough so it comes down below your knees when closed). We found one at Goodwill for $5. Then we had to decide what kind of material we wanted to use for the top half of the costume (the part that would cover our heads). My sister suggested using black felt because it would look more professional than other materials like fabric paint or even paper mache (which we tried first but didn’t work).

For the hat,
