How To Dress As Velma From Scooby-Doo For Halloween

Velma is probably the most famous geek girl in cartoon history. She is the only girl in the Scooby-Doo gang and is best friends with Daphne. Velma loves a good mystery and solves the cases with her brain! Velma is great role model for girls being smart, strong, and independent. And of course she is one of my favorite cartoon characters! Here are some tips on how to dress as Velma for Halloween:

Velma’s signature look is orange turtle neck sweater, red skirt, knee high socks, Mary Jane shoes and rectangular glasses. The turtle neck sweater is especially important to have because it covers Velma’s neck completely. You will not be recognized as Velma without it!

Velma’s hair color has changed over the years from brown to red to orange and even yellow. In the original series her hair was brown but more recent ones have her with bright orange hair (which I think looks better with her outfit). If you want to dye your hair color for Halloween that would be a fun way to get into character! The shape of her hair has also changed in different versions but I like the bob cut that she has in What’s New Scooby-Doo? The bob makes her look more mature than her teenage

The person who dressed up as Velma for Halloween was one of the more popular people at the party. The Velma costume is usually a big hit, in fact.

You need to have a few key pieces before you can pull off the perfect Velma outfit, though. This blog will show you exactly what you need and how to get them.

First, you need a pair of orange or yellow pants. They should be tight enough that they look like leggings or tights. These will go over your regular pants and serve as your bottom layer.

Next, you’ll need to find an orange or yellow t-shirt with either spaghetti straps or no sleeves at all. This will be your top layer for this costume.

Finally, you’ll need a pair of black-rimmed glasses and an orange wig with bangs cut straight across the forehead. You can find these online or in some stores, but if you’re having trouble finding them just call your local costume shop and ask if they have any Velma costumes available. If they do, they should be able to help out with getting everything else! If not then there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube that show how to make these items yourself using household items like cardboard boxes and paint; it’s

Hey, Scooby-Doo fans! Are you looking to dress up as Velma for Halloween?

You’ve come to the right place. We’re not going to dress like Fred, Daphne, Shaggy or Scooby, because they’re all easy. Just put on a green sweater and wear glasses, and you’re good to go. The Velma costume is harder to pull off.

Let me tell you a little story. I was seven years old in the fall of 1994 when my cousin Christopher came to my house with his mom and his sister Crystal for Halloween. He was dressed as Shaggy, which meant he wore a green sweater and glasses. Crystal was dressed as Velma, which meant she wore an orange turtleneck and glasses. Simple enough, right?

But their costumes at the time were made from scratch by their mother, who didn’t know what she was doing. That’s why Crystal’s costume looked so bad: the turtleneck was the wrong shade of orange; it didn’t fit right; and it had these terrible puffy sleeves that looked nothing like Velma’s actual sleeves (see picture above). One of my favorite Halloween costumes from childhood was Velma. It’s a fun and easy costume to put together, and you can make it your own with a few accessories. Here’s what you need:

– Red turtleneck

– Orange skirt or pair of orange short shorts

– Brown knee high socks

– Pair of glasses (they don’t have to be prescription)

– Brown wig

Find a short, orange or brown skirt. If you don’t have one, you can get a red or yellow skirt and dye it with RIT dye according to the package directions. Find a long-sleeved sweater that is red, orange or brown. A white turtleneck will work if you can’t find another color.

Wear knee-length white socks with Mary Jane shoes, flats or sneakers. You can also wear red or brown shoes if you don’t have black shoes.

Put on a pair of rimless glasses and secure them in place with white tape wrapped around the bridge of your nose. If you don’t have glasses, buy a pair from a dollar store and secure them to your face with tape.

Style your hair in two ponytails on the sides of your head, close to your ears. Use orange or brown hair ties, depending on the color of your hair.
