This is a tutorial to making a cheshire cat costume including things you need and how to put it together.

This is a good costume for Halloween or cosplay. You can wear it with or without the head piece. This can be used for kids or adults.

I made this costume as an adult. I am 5’2″ and 100lbs, but it should fit most people as long as you can get the right size purple shirt.

Purchase a large piece of red felt fabric. This is to be used as the base of your cheshire cat costume.

Find a pair of white pants. If you have a pair of white pants, great! If not, you can easily purchase a pair at any store that sells affordable clothing.

Purchase a furry white tail. You can make this yourself by purchasing white fur from your local fabric store and sewing it into the shape of a tail. But if you are running short on time or don’t feel like making it yourself, you can easily purchase one online for cheap. They are easy to find online and are very inexpensive.

Buy some black wool felt fabric. This is for the ears and nose of the chesire cat costume.

Purchase some pink felt fabric for the chesire cats nose and inside of his ears.

For Halloween this year I wanted to be a cheshire cat. I wanted to make it as close as possible to the one in the movie Alice in Wonderland. First you will need:

A patterned pair of leggings (alternatively, you can use paint to make the paw prints)

Two plain purple long sleeve shirts (preferably button-ups)

White face paint

Magenta face paint or lipstick

Black face paint or eyeliner

Pink glitter eye shadow

Fake eyelashes

False pink nails/nail polish (optional)
