It’s the clown that’s been scaring the hell out of audiences in recent weeks. Bill Skarsgård’s portrayal of Pennywise the Dancing Clown is terrifying. The sequel to It, based on Stephen King’s book, has been a box office success, breaking records and earning rave reviews.
The character of Pennywise is a demonic entity who takes the form of a clown named Pennywise and is the main member of an evil group called the “Losers Club”. He was portrayed in the 1990 made-for-TV film by Tim Curry and in the 2017 film by Bill Skarsgård.

How to Make Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise Costume:
I have been a big fan of Tim Curry’s portrayal of Pennywise in the 1990 “It” miniseries. So when I heard that they were making a new version, I was very skeptical. After seeing the trailer, I knew that this new movie was going to be the best horror movie of 2017! Once I saw the movie, I knew that Bill Skarsgard’s performance as Pennywise would go down as one of the best horror movie villains of all time. I am a huge fan of how his costume is more in-line with Stephen King’s novel than it was in the miniseries. So for Halloween this year, I decided to make my own version of Pennywise’s costume! Here is what you will need:
What You Will Need:

● A bald cap and spirit gum adhesive
● White hair spray paint (I used Kryolan Ultra Hair White)

Makeup, wig, and contacts
To get the look of Pennywise the Clown, you’re going to need a few things. First is the makeup. Use white face paint, or makeup primer followed by white foundation. Apply using a stippling brush and set with white powder. You’ll also need red face paint (or red cream blush) for the cheeks and nose, black face paint for the eye sockets, and black eyeliner pencil for the eyebrows. For his signature smile, apply lipstick to your lips and then use black face paint along the creases of your mouth to create that creepy smile. Finish it off with a little bit of red lipstick on the inner corners and center of your mouth.
For his hair, use a brown wig styled in an asymmetrical pompadour style with some baby hairs hanging down in front of his forehead. To complete this look, put in scary red contact lenses (the scariest ones you can find) to get that crazy clown look!
If you’re going out for Halloween this year and want to dress up as the new Pennywise, here’s what you’ll need. First, a red balloon. You can make one yourself, or buy one from the store. For the shirt, find a white collared shirt with ruffles. You can find one at a vintage shop or on Etsy. Make sure it’s not too small or too big; it should fit around your neck without being too tight.
For the pants, get some jeans that are a bit too big and cut off the bottom of them so they’re just above your ankles (or below your knees if you prefer). If you’re wearing shorts, make sure they’re red. For the clown shoes, get some old tennis shoes and paint them white with black stripes. Then add a black tip to each shoe with fabric glue or tape. Finally, tie a red ribbon around your neck and wear it like a scarf (but not too tight!).
