In 1978 John Carpenter released a film that would go on to have one of the most successful horror franchises in history. Halloween was directed by John Carpenter and starred Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Donald Pleasence as Dr. Sam Loomis, and Nick Castle as Michael Myers. With a budget of only $320,000, Halloween went on to make a whopping $47 million dollars!
The film follows a six year old boy named Michael Myers who murders his older sister Judith Myers on Halloween night. He is then admitted to Smith’s Grove Sanitarium where he is monitored by Dr. Sam Loomis. Fifteen years later, he escapes and returns home to Haddonfield to continue his killing spree.
