The Pumpkin King Always Looks Good

Hello and Welcome to my blog around creating a jack skellington costume.

This post will be updated as the project progresses.

I have been a fan of Tim Burton for many years. I have always loved his movies. The way he creates his characters is amazing. He has an extraordinary style that i have always wanted to replicate.

For this halloween i decided i would try and create a Jack Skellington Costume!

The Pumpkin King always looks good. A few years ago, I was at a party that required wearing costumes. I decided to be Jack Skellington; I thought it would be an easy costume since everyone would know who I was, and also I’ve always liked Nightmare Before Christmas.

I bought a couple of patterns and started making the clothing. I made a suit jacket out of some fabric with a black & white checkerboard pattern to make it look pin-striped; the jacket was very tight around the wrists, but otherwise turned out well.

I found a couple of belts at the thrift store, dropped them off at the shoe repair place to have them shortened, and then painted one of them with white paint to match the color in the movie; the other one was made out of fake leather (vinyl) so I used some black leather dye on it instead of paint.

The next thing on my list is shoes. The problem with shoes is that most shoes are black and Jack Skellington has white shoes. I considered trying to find black shoes to paint white, but that seemed like more work than just getting new ones. It also occurred to me that white shoes get dirty quickly and can’t be cleaned easily, so it would be nice

If you want to create a Jack Skellington costume, there are many ways to go about it. Some people may want to buy a premade costume that looks like Jack. This is fine for some costumes but for a halloween costume I strongly recommend making your own. It is way more fun and you have the ability to make it look however you want.

I was lucky enough to find some really good tips online on how to make my own jack skellington costume. My friends and I have been planning on making one for some time now and we finally got around to buying all of the supplies we needed. We bought some skeleton gloves, a skeleton mask, some black pants and shoes, and a white shirt we used for his face. The hardest part was creating his head. It took us a few tries before we got the face just right but in the end it turned out great!

Welcome to our blog page. We will be updating it frequently with information and photos of our costume creations. If you like what you see, be sure to leave a comment and let us know.

We’re going to start off with a popular costume: Jack Skellington.

Jack Skellington is a character from the film The Nightmare Before Christmas, directed by Henry Selick and written/produced by Tim Burton. In the movie, Jack lives in Halloween Town where he reigns as the Pumpkin King. He becomes bored with his job of scaring people and decides to take over Christmas.

We’ve broken down the materials used in this costume into four pieces: head, body, arms, and legs. Follow along with each one to create your very own costume!

Some of you may know this, but one of my favorite things to do is to create costumes for my kids. I’ve done so since they were born and they always look forward to it.

My daughter loves being dressed up as a Disney princess (and I’m sure she will one day be dressed up as Rapunzel), while my son loves any character from a movie or TV show. This year, he wanted to dress up as Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. This was not an easy task and would take some time, but I was up for the challenge! So let me tell you how I made his costume.

First, a little background on the character. Jack Skellington is the main character of the film who lives in Halloween Town. He’s known as the Pumpkin King and he wants more out of Halloween than just scaring people, so he decides to take over Christmas town. While in town, he becomes obsessed with Christmas, but doesn’t quite get it right when he tries to celebrate it back home in Halloween town.

The costume itself was very simple: a black suit with white pinstripes and a bow tie (both purchased at Goodwill) and a pair of white gloves (purchased at Wal-Mart

I know… Halloween’s over and you’re thinking, “Great blog, but what took you so long to post it?” Sorry. I’m always late to the party–especially when I’m the one planning it.

But since this is a perennial question (see below), I thought I’d post my answer for all to see.

Now I must confess that I don’t actually have a real Jack Skellington costume. The one pictured above belongs to my husband. And that’s how we met–when he wore his original Jack Skellington costume, which he created with his now ex-wife, to work on Halloween in 1995. (I was a nurse at the hospital where he worked as an anesthesiologist.)

So not only did his costume get me into trouble with my then-boyfriend (who was not amused), but it also got me into a lot of trouble with my future mother-in-law, who was not pleased with her son’s choice of wife. (I had gained weight between college and med school and she wasn’t shy about telling me so.) But… I digress.

My name is Jack Skellington, a.k.a. the Pumpkin King, and this is my blog about how to make a great Halloween costume for your kids. The best part about Halloween costumes is that you can use them to cover up the fact that you are actually a skeleton. It’s also a great way to celebrate the season!

I’ve been doing this since before I was even born, so I know what I’m talking about when it comes to making your own costumes. You can find a lot of tutorials online, but I wanted to make it easier for you to find the right materials and supplies. That’s why I created this site: so you can get everything you need in one place without having to search around or worry about paying too much money (or buying something that won’t work).
