Tropical Princess Jasmine Costume for Girls
This costume is inspired by the character, Princess Jasmine from the Disney movie, Aladdin. It’s perfect for Halloween, a costume party or even a princess themed birthday party. The costume is made with affordable cotton and can be worn over several seasons. Tropical Princess Jasmine Costume for Girls
The Disney Princess Jasmine costume is a beautiful tropical princess outfit featuring a shimmering blue top with sheer sleeves, pants and a matching headpiece. The top has an attached peplum with gold trimming and pink fabric flowers. The pants are blue with waistband that is covered in pink flowers. The headpiece is a beautiful gold tiara covered in blue stones, red heart jewels and centred with a large pink flower. The Aladdin movie is a family favorite in our house and Jasmine is one of the most popular princesses here at Costume Works. I was excited to make a costume for the Jasmine character because of her unique look.
The Jasmine costume featured here is a custom made outfit made for my daughter, who is almost 5 years old. A similar costume can be ordered from various online retailers. The Jasmine costumes that are out there are generally made from polyester, which is not a very nice fabric and only works for Halloween or special occasions. If your child is a fan of the Disney Princess, Jasmine, then you probably know that she is a modern girl who dreams of seeing the world. So why not have her dream come true this Halloween by dressing her up as the beautiful Arabian princess?
As you can see in the picture to your left, this dress has the exotic look that you would expect of a princess from far off lands. The bodice is made from gold with a blue jewel in the center and a purple braided trim. The sleeves are long and billowy for that harem look. The skirt is three layers which includes a purple under skirt and two layers of ruffles. The belt is made from gold material with an attached red sash which extends down to the floor. And finally, to top it off there are two sequined slippers to match.
Oh my gosh, this Jasmine costume is adorable. I can’t get over the little chubby belly! And the outfit is so well-made, too. It’s clear that a lot of attention went into designing it.
I love how the bodice is a simple blue top with a layer of sparkly turquoise fabric on top and the sleeves are just sheer turquoise fabric. The skirt is also really cute, with pleats and layers of sparkly turquoise fabric over blue satin. The best part, though, is the little chubby belly! It’s made out of a soft rubber material, which I think is perfect for Halloween costumes because it’s flexible and doesn’t rub against your skin as much as plastic or vinyl does. Plus, it’s nice to see costumes that aren’t just skin-tight spandex!
The only problem I have with this costume is the one thing you would expect to be perfect in a Disney princess costume: the headband. The large jewel on the headband looks nothing like a crescent moon! It just looks like some random jewel they put on there because they thought “princesses wear jewels”. I mean, if they couldn’t find a crescent moon, why not
