Why Everyone Should Wear a Snow White Costume at Least Once in Their Lives

Do you remember the first time you saw Disney’s Snow White? I’m sure you do, but do you also remember how it made you feel?

I do. I was very young, and Snow White was my absolute favorite. She was sweet and kind to all of nature, even the evil witch who tried to kill her. I wanted to be like her so much that I insisted on wearing a yellow dress with a red bow, just like hers. My mom obliged by making me one and to this day she still tells everyone about the summer when I was three years old.

Now that we are grown up and hopefully wiser, why wouldn’t we want to relive those moments when we were the happiest? That is why I love Halloween. It gives us an excuse to wear something totally out of character for us or go crazy with makeup in ways we would never dare. It lets us express ourselves in ways we can’t during the rest of the year.

I know what some of you are thinking: “I don’t have time for this! There are things that need to get done!” But there is something very

Snow White Costume

I am on a mission. I want everyone to wear a princess costume at least once in their life.

The first time I wore one was when I was seven years old and my mom got me dressed up as Snow White – the Disney version. Once I slipped on the dress and the blue shoes, I felt like a totally different person. It was fun to imagine that I had magical powers and that I could sing like Snow White with all the animals playing along. Unfortunately, there were no animals around.

In later years, my taste in costumes became more sophisticated when I started trying out more professional outfits including those of Wonder Woman, Cleopatra, and Pocahontas. These outfits gave me the feeling of actually being these characters. At Halloween parties, people would approach me saying things like “Hi, Pocahontas” or “Cleopatra, come dance with me.” It was fun to be recognized as a specific character and it also gave me an excuse to act out of character (which is to say my real character).

The other day my husband suggested that we should all go to a masquerade ball for Halloween this year but he said it would be too difficult to find costumes for our three kids that would fit them properly

Wearing a princess costume is every little girl’s dream. Dressing up as a character from one of Disney’s classic animated films can give you the chance to live out your childhood fantasy. I recently had the opportunity to wear a Snow White costume for my older sister’s wedding. It was not only fun, but it was also a good way to scare my younger nieces and nephews.

Wearing the costume made me feel like a child again, even though I am 27 years old. Having the chance to be a princess, even if it was only for an afternoon, brought back fond memories of when I watched the movie with my mom as a little girl. The costume was very authentic looking and well made. The dress had puffed sleeves and beautiful colors and sparkles to resemble the original dress in the movie. Even though I felt like a princess, I was able to act goofy and silly once I put on my mask and took on the role of Snow White.

Every little girl should have the opportunity to be a princess at least once in her life, so why not make that dream come true? Being able to wear such an authentic looking costume can make that happen without spending too much money. When buying costumes from retailers or online, it is important

As a child, I had the opportunity to dress up in a Snow White costume. I remember my mother telling me that princesses were kind and pretty and that they always looked out for people who needed help. She put me in my first Snow White costume and told me to go to the mirror, as Snow White did, and say “I’m fair and lovely.”

I believed her, even at three years old. I felt like Snow White when I looked at myself in that mirror. I felt like the most beautiful person in the world. I felt special because I was a princess! My mom smiled on my face and gave me a big hug before she took my picture.

A few days later, we went to Disney World where I met all of the other princesses: Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Mulan, Pocahontas, Tiana (The Princess and the Frog), Rapunzel (Tangled), Elsa (Frozen) and Anna (Frozen). They were all so beautiful that I thought they were as pretty as they were in their movies! We watched them perform and dance on stage with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

The first time I wore a princess costume, it was a Halloween party in college. I had an amazing dress and glass slippers. It was a beautiful costume! But the best part of the night was that everyone else at the party dressed up, too.

Actually, everyone at my college always dresses up for Halloween. That’s because we’re all nerds, and we love any excuse to dress up in costumes. However, the very first time I dressed up as a princess was when I was a little girl and my mom made me a Snow White costume from scratch. She did that for every Halloween until I got too old to wear them anymore (and even then she made me a few more).

Whenever I think about what it means to be an adult and to make my own life choices, part of me still wants to be able to wear princess costumes whenever I want. And another part of me is afraid that if I wear a princess costume again, I’ll lose all my adult credibility and people will just see me as a child.

But that’s silly! If you’ve ever been to Comic-Con or other similar conventions, you know that many adults like dressing up in costumes just as much as kids do. And they don’t look like they

It’s hard not to be a little envious of Snow White. She gets to sing with woodland creatures, nap in a glass coffin, and look great in yellow. The princess costume is the most popular girls’ costume year after year, so it’s no wonder the Disney Princess franchise is the company’s biggest moneymaker.

But the Snow White costume isn’t just for kids anymore. As I’ve grown up, I’ve come to appreciate its comfort and versatility. So this Halloween you’ll find me dressed as everyone’s favorite Disney Princess, because we’re never too old for princesses.

The princess costume is comfortable and flattering on anyone. It’s easy to throw together a last minute costume because you can wear a lot of your own clothes or borrow from friends. You just need a dress (or skirt and blouse), tights, flats (or heels if you’re ambitious), and accessories like a tiara or necklace. Even if you don’t have one lying around, it’s easy to find a cheap princess costume at any Halloween store or online retailer like Amazon or eBay that ships quickly.

Even better, Snow White is an all-weather princess! When it gets cold outside after dark you can put on tights or leggings under your dress instead

This morning, I sat in the McDonald’s parking lot and watched a mom load her kids into their car. One kid was wearing a yellow princess dress that reminded me of Snow White. The mom was wearing sweats and had on no makeup. I was in my car with my two children, who were still in their pajamas (it was 9:30am). I had no makeup on and my hair was not yet done for the day. We had just come from the playground and were on our way home for breakfast. As we drove by the mom and her kids, I smiled at her because she looked like she might be having a rough morning. She smiled back and then said something to her daughter, who looked over at me and waved. Her princess dress made me smile. It reminded me of being a kid and dressing up as Snow White in my grandparent’s basement with my cousins.

The other day while out with my children, they saw some costumes in a store front window display—Snow White, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), Cinderella, etc.—and asked if they could have one of the costumes to wear on Halloween. My first instinct is usually “no” but this time I immediately said “yes” because it sounded
