11. Godzilla (1954)
The original suit was made of latex and fiberglass. It was modeled on a series of drawings by Teizo Toshimitsu, Akira Watanabe, and Tohl Narita. The suit was worn by Haruo Nakajima in the 1954 film “Godzilla” and continued to be used until the end of production of “Godzilla vs. Gigan” in 1972. The suit was heavily modified in 1962 for “King Kong vs. Godzilla”, with its arms slimmed down and its facial features refined for a younger appearance.
