Poodle skirts are a classic 50s costume. I’ve always wanted to be a 50s girl, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to be one for a day! I’m not sure if this counts as an 80s costume or not, but the majority of these pieces can definitely be used again in 80s costumes. And with how much fun I had wearing this poodle skirt costume, I will definitely be reusing it again!
How to make an easy 80s costume:
1) Find an old sweatshirt that you don’t mind cutting up, and cut the sleeves off.
2) If you have pinking shears, use those to edge the ends of the sweatshirt so it doesn’t fray.
3) Use some iron-on letters (or cut out fabric letters and sew them on!) to spell out whatever you want on your sweatshirt. You can also use Sharpie marker or fabric paint if you don’t have iron-on letters.
