4 Reasons Why Willy Wonka Would Make a Great Halloween Costume

I love dressing up for Halloween. It is one of my favorite days of the year. When I was little, I would spend all year thinking about what I wanted to be and every year it was something different. This year, however, I have decided that I want to be Willy Wonka! Here are 4 reasons why Willy Wonka would make a great Halloween costume:
1. He is one of the most famous literary characters of all time! Everyone loves Willy Wonka and his factory. You can be sure that you will get plenty of attention when you dress up as him.
2. People always want to visit his chocolate factory! The movie has been loved by generations and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is also a classic children’s book by Roald Dahl. If you dress up as Willy Wonka this Halloween, people will want to follow you around all night in hopes that you’ll lead them to your chocolate factory!

The History of Willy Wonka
Before he was played by Gene Wilder in the 1971 film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka was more of an enigma. The mysterious candy factory owner had never been seen before in the pages of Dahl’s book, but his name and reputation were well known to children everywhere.
This is mostly because his company had been sending out “Golden Tickets” to various locations around the world, granting five lucky children entry into his factory. The children would get a full tour and receive one lifetime supply of chocolate each. As you can imagine, this created quite a stir with children everywhere who tried their best to find one of these precious tickets. In fact, kids even started looking for golden tickets in their chocolate bars!
Halloween is arguably the most fun holiday of the year. You can dress up in any costume you want, be whoever you want to be, and eat all the candy you want. It’s one of those times where you can act like a kid again and nobody will judge you.
As long as Halloween costumes are around, there will always be the classics: ghosts, monsters, demons, and witches. These costumes have been popular for years and will probably continue to be popular for years to come. But we think it’s time to kick things up a notch. There are tons of characters out there that we think would make awesome Halloween costumes. But that’s part of the beauty of Willy Wonka: his character is so memorable and distinct, people will still recognize him even if you’re only dressed up as his movie counterpart. 1. He’s Memorable – Who doesn’t know who Willy Wonka is? He’s one of the most iconic characters ever created and has been around for over 50 years. It’s been a long time since Roald Dahl first published Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 1964, but this story shows no signs of fading away any time soon. If anything, it’s become more popular as time goes on: the 1971 version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is widely considered one of the best children’s movies ever made, and Tim Burton’s 2005 version was widely praised by critics as well.
2. He’s Fun – When it comes to Halloween costumes, nobody wants to be boring. Nobody wants to be just another vampire or witch or zombie again this year

This is probably the best reason to dress up as Willy Wonka. You can carry around a bunch of candy bars and hand them out to your friends. And even if you’re not a fan of Oompa Loompas, you’ll have no problem doing their silly dance all night long!
4) Everyone will know who you are:
Even though Willy Wonka might not be an obvious choice for Halloween, everyone will still know who you are. So make sure to get some good pictures of yourself in costume before your big night out!
If you’re looking for a last-minute costume or just want to dress as something fun for Halloween, Willy Wonka is the perfect choice. There are plenty of reasons why:
He’s memorable. Everyone knows what Willy Wonka looks like, and there’s a good chance that most people will remember the character from when they were kids.
His outfit is recognizable. A purple topcoat, top hat and cane are all it takes to get this look down.

Gene Wilder played Willy Wonka in the original 1971 film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” and he did so in a very specific way — with a goofy smile and slight stutter, always acting as if he had a few tricks up his sleeve. Imitating him should be simple enough for anyone.
