5 Tips for Dressing Completely Undercover This Halloween

Dressing up as a horror icon like Jason from Friday the 13th is no easy task. It takes time, money, blood, and sweat. (Not to mention more blood.) Here are some tips for avoiding detection by fellow party-goers and authorities alike.

1. Wear your mask at all times.

No one messes with Jason Voorhees, and no one will mess with you if they can’t see your face! The mask should be stitched or glued securely to your head. You can still see out of it just fine, so don’t worry about walking into walls or anything like that.

2. Stay away from hockey masks.

Though many people associate Jason with a hockey mask (and though you might even have trained yourself to move in ways that make people think you’re holding a machete), it’s a bad idea to wear an actual hockey mask. People will recognize it instantly and know what you’re supposed to be. Instead, take a trip to your local toy store and look for masks from other franchises. I recommend Michael Meyers from Halloween or Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre (but don’t get the new one where he’s in 3D).

As October 31st approaches, we’re all starting to think about our costumes for this year’s Halloween parties. (At least I am.)

But what if you want to dress up as a horror icon like Jason from Friday the 13th? Or the evil doll Chucky from Child’s Play? Or any other masked killer?

The most important thing is to make sure your face is covered at all times, so no one can recognize you. If you’re planning on going to a bar or club and drinking alcohol, this is doubly important. You don’t want someone taking your picture while you’re wearing your mask, and then having it show up on Facebook later. That would just be embarrassing.

Here are five tips that will help you stay completely undercover this Halloween!

Halloween is the one night of the year that you can be anything you want (well, as long as there’s not a race or class/gender barrier stopping you). But for many people, the best way to celebrate this holiday is to go completely undercover. Dressing up in a creepy mask like those worn by Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th is a good way to get into character. Here are five tips to help you blend in and make it through the night without getting recognized.

1. Dress in layers.

You’ll need to disguise your skin color so that no one recognizes you while out and about. The easiest way to do this is with some extra clothing over top of your regular clothes. Remember: if you dress like Jason, you can wear whatever you want underneath.

2. Wear sunglasses at night.

You should also take steps to disguise your eyes if possible; otherwise, people will recognize you right away! The easiest way to do this is with a pair of sunglasses, which should be kept on even after dark; they’ll block out any light that might reveal your identity when walking around town or visiting friends houses for trick-or-treating festivities later in the evening (and early morning

Every Halloween, it’s the same story: Someone suggests you go to the party as Jason Friday the 13th. You think it’s a great idea—until you realize your first problem: You don’t know how to do it.

Fortunately, we’ve got you covered. Here are five tips for dressing up as this horror icon.

Don’t forget the hockey mask! This is probably the most important thing about dressing like Jason from Friday the 13th: the hockey mask. Without it, no one will know who you’re supposed to be. And if nobody knows who you’re supposed to be, what’s even the point?

Find an old pair of jeans. Jason’s look is all about being rugged and dirty. You can’t pull that off with a brand new pair of jeans; they need to look worn out and used. So find an old pair in your closet or garage, or buy one from an army surplus store or something.

1. Don’t Forget the Mask

If you’re dressing up as Jason, you can’t leave the house without his signature hockey mask. The goalie-style mask is a key element to Voorhees’ costume and you won’t be taken seriously without it. You can find hockey masks in adult sizes online at fantastic prices. Keep it authentic with an official Friday the 13th licensed hockey mask from your favorite retailer. The Jason Friday the 13th Adult Hockey Mask is a must-have for any fan of the series!

2. Pick Your Weapon

Jason Voorhees is known for wielding a machete as his weapon of choice, but he’s used everything from pitchforks to axes over the years. However, there are some weapons that are more suitable for Halloween than others, like the Jason Voorhees Machete Prop from the 2009 film “Friday the 13th”. It’s made of rubber and measures over two feet long!

3. Wear Dark Clothing

What would Jason be without his signature black clothing? If you want to nail down his look, dress in all dark clothing like black jeans or pants and a long sleeve shirt. For an added touch, wear chains around your neck or add blood splatter to your clothes with

1. Your mask is the most important thing. The point of dressing as Jason is to not be recognized, so you need a face mask. I’m going to go with a hockey mask, but the burlap sack he used in the third film is also a good choice.

2. Don’t wear clothing that’s too identifiable. There are a few outfits that are famous from the series, like the blue sweater from Part 2 and the black outfit from Part 6, but unless you’re planning on being that specific, it’s better to just stick with nondescript clothes. A flannel shirt and jeans work great!

3. Stay away from swords, axes and knives in general (unless you have a rubber one). You don’t want to run around threatening people on Halloween night, even if you’re dressed as Jason. It’s not safe for you or them!

4. Don’t get drunk or high while wearing your costume. You need to be aware and alert while trick-or-treating so that no one recognizes you as Jason Voorhees under your mask. If you get drunk or high and walk around looking lost, someone might call the police on you!

5. This is an important one: Don’t kill people while wearing

1. Get a hockey mask.

There are many types of hockey masks, but you want to make sure it’s the right kind. The iconic Jason mask is more angular than most Hockey masks and has small holes cut out for eyes and a mouth. It also has a red stripe across the forehead with several dents in it. If you are having trouble finding one at your local costume shop, consider making one yourself.

If you don’t have the time or patience to make your own mask, you can also find some excellent replicas online. Check out our post on hockey masks for more information on these.

2. Wear all black.

Jason is known for wearing all black clothing (or maybe blue), so if you are dressing like him, make sure you do the same! Some versions of Jason wear a tattered shirt, while others just wear a leather vest or harness of some sort. His pants are usually worn denim or leather, with boots and a utility belt completing his outfit. You can also add additional touches like axes or knives strapped to his belt, or even bloodstains on the clothes and mask!

3. Don’t show skin.

Jason is pretty well known for not showing any skin, so if you’re trying to go for
