So you’ve decided to cosplay Marshmello, the mysterious DJ who wears a helmet. The below guide is a step-by-step on how to make your own marshmello helmet.

First step, find a large bowl and some white cardboard (or foamboard). Cut out the bottom of the bowl so it’s flat. Use this to draw out the shape of your helmet on the cardboard in pencil. Cut out this shape with an X-acto knife, and then tape it together with Duck Tape. If you want to be extra safe, use hot glue in between layers of the duck tape.

Next, place your bowl on your head and trace around where it touches. Cut out these shapes from cardboard as well and tape them onto your helmet so that it fits perfectly on your head.

Next, cut out two long oval shapes to fit over your eyes. Tape them inside your helmet where they will cover your eyes. Next, take a small piece of cardboard and tape it over the center of one oval where you will see through (the eye hole). Do this for both ovals. You’ll have to cut a smaller hole in each oval with an X-Acto knife so that you can see!

We decided to use EVA foam as a base material because it is a cheap and easily accessible material that can be found in any hardware store. It comes in sheets of various thicknesses (we used 2mm), and is usually found in the flooring section.

Your first objective is to prepare the headpiece: you’ll need two A4 sheets of EVA foam. The first one will be the front part of your helmet and the second one, the back of your helmet. You can make this stage easier by cutting out two circles with a diameter equal to your head’s circumference (just add 0.5-1 cm for some breathing space). Make sure these circles are about 4mm smaller than your head’s circumference (you can cut away some more later if necessary).

This is an easy costume that everyone will recognize. It will get you a lot of compliments and if you are going to a convention, it’s a great way to get pictures taken without having to wait in line for hours!

The idea for this costume came when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be for Halloween. I saw a bunch of people online who had made marshmallow costumes, but they were all huge and took up a lot of space. After looking at many of them, I decided that the best way to make a costume is to make it out of something light and inexpensive. I went to a local party store and found some white fabric that would work well.

I bought two yards of this fabric and used it as the main part of my costume. This is what it looks like:

After cutting out all the pieces, sew them together. The key here is not to make them too tight or loose so don’t worry about being exact with your measurements. It’s also very important that you don’t sew anything onto anything else until everything else is sewn on first so keep track!

I used hot glue on all edges except where the top meets bottom because that would be visible from both sides if done incorrectly (see photo above). Once everything was glued together, I put it on over my head like normal clothing and then secured it
