I want to be the talk of the party! The best way to do this is to make your own costume. Many people make their own costumes and they are always the most popular. It doesn’t have to cost much money either. You can be really creative with items you may have at home or purchase inexpensively at a thrift shop or dollar store. With just a little bit of effort and some imagination, you will have an amazing costume!

The Oompa Loompa costume is a great example. These are the orange faced little workers that Willy Wonka had making candy in his factory. I was inspired to make this because in the past year my son has gone through a phase where he only wants to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He is obsessed, and so naturally I had to take advantage of this, by making him an Oompa Loompa costume.

You can easily find an Oompa Loompa wig or hat on Amazon or another online store. If you don’t want to buy a wig, you could also try dying your hair orange and cutting it short. You could even go wigless and simply paint your head orange if you want to go all out!

The classic Oompa Loompa costume is orange face paint, white overalls with a green shirt underneath, and a black wig. But even if you do not want to spend the time and money on putting that together, it is easy to put together something that will look great.

One of the best things about the Oompa Loompas is that they are all different sizes and shapes – so you can be too! You can still use the orange face paint and green shirt idea, but instead of overalls wear leggings and a long tunic top or dress with lots of ruffles or layers. If you are tall use bright yellow fabric for the tunic (or go naked!) and if you are shorter try purple or blue fabric instead. Step 1: Buy a pair of white pants and a white shirt.
