Halloween is just around the corner and, if you’re like me, you have no idea what you want to be. I always start planning my costume in late September, but by mid October I still haven’t picked anything out.

So I thought I would get a head start this year and start my list early. You can look at my blog for ideas on costumes that you can create with your little resources. The fun part about making your own costumes is that you get to be creative, and usually it’s much cheaper than buying them.

There are several ideas for costumes that you can create. These costumes are a little more difficult than the previous ones but they can still be created at home. Some of the costumes require a sewing machine and some patterns that you may need to purchase.

Bo Peep costume

This is a very cute and sexy version of Bo Peep. You need to buy a petticoat, preferably with several layers of material. The top layer of material should be white or light blue and it should have fringe on it. The next layer should be pink or light purple with no fringe. The final layer can be anything you want but white ruffles would look great at the bottom of your skirt. Purchase enough material to make some legs out of the same material as your top layer of petticoat. You will also need an elastic waistband for these legs. You will also need about a yard or so of white lace trim that is about 2-3 inches wide and some ribbon in any color you want your bows to be (pink is the traditional color).

Also purchase a peasant blouse or shirt that has long sleeves and buttons down the front (white would work best but you can use any color you want). It can be long sleeve or short sleeve
