Cruella de Vil is a fictional character created by Dodie Smith as the main antagonist of her 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians, Disney’s animated movie adaptation and its sequel. She has also appeared in two of Disney’s live-action movies (101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians), an animated television series, two video games, and several other Disney media.

In all adaptations, Cruella kidnaps young Dalmatian puppies for their fur. In some she is portrayed as acting alone, while in others she has henchmen or partners in crime to assist her. She was voiced by Betty Lou Gerson in the 1961 film, by Susanne Blakeslee in the television series (except for one episode where she is heard but not seen), by Tress MacNeille in 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure, by April Winchell in House of Mouse and Descendants Wicked World, by Jodi Benson in Disney’s House of Villains and by Wendy Raquel Robinson in Descendants 3. The slutty Cruella Deville costume is one of the most popular costumes for women to wear on Halloween. It’s fun, sexy and not too hard to make. It’s a great choice for girls who want to look sassy without having to bare too much skin.

You will need:

Black dress (long or maxi) or full slip with lace at the bottom. If you can find a black dress or slip with white collar it will be perfect but not necessary. You can find long black dresses at thrift stores, Goodwill and Salvation Army for $3-$5. If you can’t find a black dress, try getting a full length slip from thrift store in white or pale color and dye it black with Rit Dye.
