Gone are the days when you wanted to be a practical devil for Halloween.
When I was little, I remember my mother making me a devil costume with a red sweatsuit and felt horns. It was great. But then there were so many other things I wanted to be.
I remember wanting to be one of the cool girls from Charlie’s Angels and wearing an awesome fake leather jacket, but it was so hot that night that I kept taking it off. But it was awesome to look like an Angel for awhile.
Then there were all those years when I wanted to be some sort of witch or vampire and wore black and white makeup and a cape. That was pretty cool too, but then there were even cooler costumes out there that could be bought or made.
Every year I would look at catalogs in the weeks leading up to Halloween and wonder what kind of costume I could put together this year. Some of them looked pretty good, but they didn’t have any of my favorites in my size so I would have to go out looking for something else which wasn’t nearly as cool as the one I had been looking at in the catalog.

In the past, being a devil on Halloween meant dressing up in a red jumpsuit with horns and a tail. This costume was often picked by people who didn’t want to spend a lot of time or money on their Halloween outfits. It was also the choice for people who disliked scary costumes but wanted to dress up for Halloween anyway.
Today, gone are the days when a devil costume was considered “cheap” or “unoriginal”. Today, you can find some of the hottest Halloween costumes at your local party store or online retailer. While there are still plenty of simple red jumpsuits with horns and tails, there are also extremely sexy devil costumes available today. These costumes are very provocative – particularly those made for women – but they’re not so revealing that they’ll get you kicked out of your office Halloween party!

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know that this is the place where I share my thoughts on costumes and dressing up every year around Halloween. So I thought I would take a moment to talk about the different types of designs you could create, even if they are not practical to wear in public.
One question I always have is, “How should I dress up?” But I think the more important question is, “Why would I want to dress up like a devil?” And I think there really are two answers. The first answer is that you want to look like a devil. The second answer is that you want to be an evil spirit or demon for Halloween.
My answer to the question, “Why would I want to dress up as a devil?” Is that it’s because of the two reasons above. And since I already said my first reason was because I love being bad, here’s how you can do that without having to worry about buying a costume that doesn’t fit your body type or personality.
The devil costume is an excellent choice for Halloween. The devil, or Satan, is the most famous of all evil spirits. He is associated with fire, brimstone, and the underworld. While he sometimes takes a physical form, it is more common to see him as a disembodied presence without a distinct shape.
The devil has been featured in many stories throughout history, and he even appears in religions such as Christianity and Islam. His appearance varies widely depending on the storyteller, but he is often depicted with horns, red hair, cloven hooves, and a pointed tail.
There are many creative ways to portray the devil. Here are a few ideas:
You can dress up as the classic red-skinned demon with horns and a pitchfork. This look can be achieved using special effects makeup and fake horns.
You can go with an angelic look. Paint your face white and wear an angel costume complete with wings. Add some devilish touches like fake horns to make people second-guess your intentions.
Similar to the above look, you may choose a black bodysuit with red wings and horns to represent the fallen angel that you are!

You’ve seen the devil costumes: horns, tail, pitchfork. All that is missing is a sign around their neck saying “I’m a devil” or “I’m going to hell.”
Here’s some news for you: The devil does not dress like that. He looks like you and me. And he’s everywhere in our world today. He’s on TV. He’s in the movies. He’s at the mall. He even goes to church.
He doesn’t want to be known as the devil, because when people recognize him they run away from him — and that makes it harder for him do his job. His job is to get us to sin against God and go to hell with him. And he’s very good at his job!
God tells us that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). If we think we can spot the devil by his horns, tail, and pitchfork, we’re in real trouble!
Jesus said: “Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart” (1 Peter 5:8).
