Guidelines

When I first started making DIY Deku costumes back in 2016, I had no idea that so many people would be interested in them. There’s a lot of tutorials out there on how to make your own DIY Deku costume, but most of them are for kids or adults who want to be Deku for Halloween. If you’re looking for something more realistic, here’s what you need to know about making your own Deku costume:

1. What is the best material for the costume?

I tried several different materials for the costume, but I found that the best was a very thin plastic fabric called “Deluxe” (or “De-Luxe”) which you can buy from a company called Jhong. It’s also available at some fabric stores. The advantage of this fabric is that it’s easy to cut and sew, it has a nice smooth finish and it’s easy to dye.

2. How do I make the costume?

To make the costume, you will need two pieces of fabric: one piece for the body of the costume and one piece for the sleeves. You can use any kind of fabric you want, but I recommend using something like cotton or polyester because they are easier to work with and they don’t stretch easily

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken) is a long-running manga series created by Hirohiko Araki. The manga has spawned multiple anime adaptations since its publication in the 1980s. The anime and the manga have been met with large success, so it’s no surprise that fans of the series want to cosplay as their favorite character.

If you want to dress up as Deku (the main protagonist of the fourth part) for a convention or photo shoot, it’s easy to put together a DIY Deku costume if you follow these guidelines!

Deku Costume Checklist:

* Green hoodie

* Blue tank top & shorts

* White socks

* Red shoes

* Red backpack

The most difficult part will be finding all of these items, but they can be found at various thrift shops, secondhand stores, and online.

If you’re looking for a cosplay costume that’s easy, fast, and cheap to make, then you might want to consider dressing up as Deku from My Hero Academia.

In this blog post I’ll tell you how to make it and what supplies you’ll need!

The costume can be made with just a few simple tools: needle & thread (or hot glue gun), scissors, sewing machine (optional but recommended), fabric glue or tape measurer. To make the costume, you’ll need about $50 worth of materials: $30 for green t-shirts, $10 for orange pants (or shorts), $5 each on yellow yarn and red felt markers, $2 each on black duct tape or velcro strips.

The best part is that if your kid likes this character they can wear it all year round! They won’t feel like they’re missing out when Halloween comes around because there are plenty of other ways to dress up as Deku during the rest of the year too — from wearing green clothes at school or work events like parades and sporting events; to playing around in their own backyard with friends who share similar interests (like me).

Here’s what my daughter did: she got some orange pants ($10) at Target (

So… you want to be Deku Link for Halloween? Well, you are not alone. Many adults and kids (myself included) have been obsessed with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game and just can’t get enough of it. This costume is easy to make and requires no sewing!

If you would like to use my photography as a guide for your own Deku Link costume, please do so! I will be adding additional photos soon. Also, if you would like to post links to your own photos here, please do so! I’d love to see them!

Making a Deku costume is a pretty straightforward process. The first step is to get your measurements correct. The key piece of the costume is the mask, and for that, you will want to measure around your head where the mask will sit. For my son’s costume, we made the pattern so that it fit snugly around his head, but it was not tight.

We used two different types of foam for this project: 1/4 inch craft foam and 1/2 inch craft foam (also called “thick” foam). The thicker foam was used for the mask and the leaves, while the thinner foam was used for the chest piece and all of the details on the leaves. For this project we purchased both types of foam from Cosplay Supplies. The reason we chose Cosplay Supplies was because they have a lot of colors available in 1/2 inch foam (which is hard to find elsewhere) and they have great prices on EVA Foam.

I made a Deku costume for my daughter and I to wear to comic con. But I was super nervous about the head. If you’ve ever seen any of the conventions you know people take their cosplay seriously.

I’m not a professional, but I do love making things and wanted this to look great. So I am sharing what I learned, in case it helps anyone else out there.

Originally, I thought the best way to make the head would be using a pumpkin as the base and then just covering that in paper mache. But after lots of research online, I found felt and paper mache were the materials used by most people on YouTube (who had better results than me).

So I decided to use felt as well…

Step 1: Supplies

– Green long sleeve shirt and pants (I purchased a military green uniform at the thrift store.)

– Yellow ribbon/belt

– 2 brown paper bags (1 small, 1 large)

– Black spray paint

– White foam board or cardboard (for your own personal cutouts)

– Construction paper in black, red, white, yellow, brown and green

– Scissors

– Glue stick

– Pencil

Step 2: The headpiece!

I used a brown paper bag and cut out two different sized circles. I used the smaller circle for the top of my head and the larger circle for the back of my head. I then took a second smaller paper bag and cut it down to make a band that would fit around my head. It was stretchy enough that it would fit on anyone’s head. I then glued all these pieces together with hot glue so they wouldn’t come apart while wearing them. You can also use craft glue but it will take longer to dry. Then just spray paint the whole thing with black spray paint so it looks like leather. Once it is dry you can use construction paper to make a face mask. There are many different ways to do this! Or
