HalloWeek Makeup Tutorial Tinkers and Fairies

Welcome to another edition of Halloweek Makeup Tutorials. Today, we’re going to riff off the classic Tinkerbell look, but with a twist! Instead of dressing up as your average fairy, we’re going to be a sexy tinker fairy. (the “-er” really makes all the difference.)

To create our tinker fairy, you’ll need a few key items. First, you’ll need a set of butterfly wings. You can get these at any halloween store (or make your own). Be sure that they are hinged in multiple places so that they will be poseable. Also, you’ll want to get some fake flowers and/or leaves with which you can decorate your wings. Next, you’ll want some glitter in various colors. Finally, you’ll need various shades of makeup for your eyes and cheeks.

My favorite fairy is Tinkerbell, so I thought it would be fun to do a special makeup tutorial for the Disney Tinkerbell Movies! So here we have “Tinkers and Fairies” aka Tinkers and Fairies. This look is great for any gal who wants to look like a sexy fairy or just wants to play dress up on Halloween.

I started by applying my foundation as usual with a sponge. Then I added some blush to my cheeks to give them a nice rosy glow and applied a bit of lip gloss before I got started on my eyes. The first thing that you will want to do after applying your mascara or false lashes is take the black liquid eyeliner and draw two thick lines along the outer corners of your eyes going straight down toward your cheeks past where the eye normally stops. These lines should meet in the middle of your face so that they form an upside-down triangle shape. Then use some white cream shadow over top of this area from where it meets at the point halfway down your cheekbone all the way up towards your brow bone until it has completely covered both sides of your eye like pictured below (you can also apply concealer instead).

Once you have covered these areas with white cream shadow, blend them in with a fluffy

This halloween I’m going to be a Tinker Bell. Yes, I know this is not a unique costume idea, but it’s my Halloween outfit and I’m going to wear what I want!

I’ve already bought my dress from Forever21. It’s an adorable little yellow number that makes me feel all feminine and dainty. The only problem is, it’s just a little too short for my comfort level. But it’ll work!

I have to admit, the wings did cost me a pretty penny at $15.99, but they’re so beautiful and intricate that I just fell in love with them.

Now, on to the makeup tips:

I am not a makeup artist, but I do love to paint my face and dress up! So why not try to do a sexy Tinkerbell costume. Tinkerbells are usually seen as cute and lovable characters. This is a different look that is still recognizable as Tinkerbell, but it’s more modern and sexy.

I started by applying glitter primer all over my face. This helps the glitter stick. Then I put on the lightest foundation I could find (just one coat). Next, I added more glitter primer where I wanted the glitter to really stand out.

I applied MAC eye shadow in “Brun” in my crease with a brush. This is a dark brown with red undertones so it matches my red hair (but any dark brown will work). Next, I used a lighter brown to blend the darker color into my skin tone (you can skip this step if you are already very close to your skin tone). Then I added some white shimmer eye shadow from the BH Cosmetics 88 palette on the inside corner of my eyes and under my brow bone.

I applied black eyeliner on the top lash line and winged it out past the outer corner of my eye for dramatic effect. Using BH Cosmetics black gel eye liner

Tinkerbell is a Disney fairy who has appeared in several Disney movies and cartoons. She is cute, sweet, and sassy. She’s also super popular with little girls. This Tinkerbell costume makeup tutorial will show you how to create a real look inspired by her character.

Materials:

1) Blue and green eye shadow

2) Black eyeliner pencil

3) White eyeliner pencil

4) Black mascara

5) Red lip liner and lipstick or gloss (optional)

6) Highlighter powder or bronzer (optional)

7) Beauty blender sponge or makeup brush

Cleanse your face with a mild cleanser and moisturize. You can moisturize the night before if you want to avoid breaking out from the heavy makeup application, but I personally find that moisturizing immediately before applying makeup looks better. It gives your skin a nice, dewy glow without making it too shiny. Apply foundation all over your face using a foundation brush or damp beauty blender sponge. Use concealer to cover any blemishes or dark circles under your eyes that you want concealed. Set with translucent powder to prevent creasing throughout the day and to achieve a matte finish on your skin (if desired). If you don’t have translucent powder, you can use

Step 1: Start with a very clean face, freshly washed and moisturized. If you have any blemishes or dark circles that can’t be covered with concealer, apply some foundation. I used MAC Select Cover-up in NC15. If you don’t need any foundation or concealer, apply MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC15 and your favorite blush like I did.

Step 2: Use an eyelash curler to curl your lashes. This is important to make sure you don’t have to touch your eyes later and get raccoon eyes from the mascara.

Step 3: Apply a base color on your eyelids. I used the color “Blissful” from the Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette because it’s a warm bronze color that really brings out green eyes like mine. Apply it all over your lid as well as near your tear ducts and blend it upwards towards your brow bone. You can also use an eye primer if you have oily eyelids but I never do because I don’t have that problem or else my makeup would slide right off my face in this heat!

Step 4: Apply a glittery green shadow on the outer third of your eyelid and in the crease, blending upwards towards your brow bone just like
