How To Dress As The Most Clever Witch
Hermione Granger is one of the most beloved Harry Potter characters, and she happens to be one of the easiest characters to dress up as. Her clothing is normally simple, but with a few clever touches here and there you can make your Hermione costume stand out from the crowd.

The best part of dressing up as Hermione is that you don’t have to buy any expensive costumes. You’ll likely have most of what you need already in your closet! And if not, your local thrift store should be able to help out. Here are a few ideas for how to get started:
Young Hermione: A Young Hermione costume will be fairly easy to put together. The key is the school uniform: find a dark green or black skirt (knee-length or longer), white collared shirt, black tights, and sensible shoes. Don’t forget the Hogwarts crest on a sweater or sweatshirt over your shirt! If you have curly hair like Emma Watson, style it in two braids on each side of your face (you can buy fake hair if needed). Add some round wire-rimmed glasses and carry a book with you everywhere you go. You’re ready to cast

Hermione Granger is one of the most popular characters from the Harry Potter series. Dressing up as her at Halloween or for other costume parties is a great way to show your love for this clever witch! Since Hermione is a young girl, many of her costumes are easy to make and are on the simpler side.
Hermione’s signature look is her long, brown hair in two braids worn over her shoulders. She wears glasses and a cloak over a sweater and skirt combination with tights and boots. The Gryffindor crest is usually shown on her sweater. To dress as Hermione, use these items to create her look or buy an official Halloween costume.
If you need some accessories, you can pick up an owl plushie that looks like Hedwig, or get a wand like hers (though she doesn’t use it as much as Harry or Ron). If you’re looking for something special to top off your costume, you can get a Time Turner necklace — just don’t start traveling backwards in time!
You’ve seen the Harry Potter movies ten times, read the books a hundred times, and you still can’t get enough? Well, then it’s time to dress up as your favorite witch and create your own Hermione Granger costume.
What you’ll need:
A wig
An outfit (more on this below)
A wand
Optional: the Sorting Hat (if you want to sort everyone at the party or wear it with the costume)
Hermione’s outfit is fairly simple. She wears a shirt underneath her sweater. The sweater itself is long sleeved and is a dark burgundy color. Her skirt is much darker — black or dark blue — and comes to her mid calves. On her feet are black knee high socks and brown lace-up shoes. All of this can be found at a thrift store pretty easily. If not, try eBay or some other online shop that sells costumes. You should be able to find all of these pieces for less than $20 if you do some searching.
Ugh, I just love fall. Of course, I love all seasons, but there is something about the crisp air and changing leaves that makes my heart so happy! I’m sure Halloween is one of the reasons why I love fall so much… because come on, who doesn’t love dressing up!? And if you’re anything like me and have a minor (okay, major) obsession with Harry Potter, dressing up as Hermione Granger might be right up your alley.
As a self-proclaimed Hermione, I’ve taken it upon myself to share my costume ideas with all of you in case you too want to dress up as Hermione this Halloween!
Cruella Deville is one of the most memorable villains in Disney history, and a classic Halloween costume. In 101 Dalmatians Cruella Deville was on a mission to make a coat out of dalmatians and was willing to do anything she could to get her hands on some spots. She’s confident and sassy, but does have a soft side (she does cry when the mink coat she had her heart set on gets ruined).
Cruella is known for her two tone hair- one side is white, and the other side black. It’s an easy look to achieve with a wig or hair dye. Her wardrobe consists of a lot of furs and animal prints, and she wears long black gloves as well as pearls around her neck for accessories. While it might be hard to pull off the fur coat look, you can wear a black coat or jacket over your costume instead.
She’s also always carrying a cigarette holder around with her, so you can carry one around with you too if you’d like (although we don’t recommend smoking with it).
