How Can I Make My Own Buzz Lightyear Costume?

Buzz Lightyear is a space ranger. He’s also a toy in the Disney/Pixar movie Toy Story. Buzz happens to be my favorite character from Toy Story, so naturally I’d want to dress up as him for Halloween. But buying the costume was out of the question (it costs about $60), and making it was an even worse idea (sewing is not one of my strong points).

Luckily, I had a solution. My parents bought me a black turtleneck and black leggings for Christmas, and my brother happened to have some very handy items: white gloves, white socks, and a large cardboard box. So all I needed were some wings and a helmet.

I made the wings with the help of my father. We drew out two wing shapes on posterboard, cut them out with a box-cutter, and then used silver paint to make them look like they were made of metal plates. We connected them with fishing wire so that they could be bent into any position.

The helmet was even easier. We started with a full-size rectangular cereal box and cut off the bottom flaps and one side flap (leaving only one side flap attached at

I was recently asked by a friend to help him make a Buzz Lightyear costume for his son. I have never sewn anything before but I had a blast making this costume. My son was very excited when he saw it and wanted one of his own! I am going to share with you how we made our own Buzz Lightyear costumes. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at anytime, I will be glad to answer them.

I used white 100% cotton fabric for the body of the suit and blue 100% cotton fabric for the wings. The pattern can be found on this website: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-can-I-make-my-own-Buzz-Lightyear-costume/

In this article i will be showing you how to make your very own Buzz Lightyear costume. The costume is made from a box, it’s really simple and easy to do. So let’s get started!

Step 1: Get A Box The first step is to get a box, any box will do as long as it’s big enough for you to fit in.

Step 2: Get Some Paint Once you have got your box, paint it black, or choose any other colour you like. I find that the best paint is acrylic paint because it goes on evenly and gives a nice finish.

Step 3: Add Details Now add the details using white paint and a fine brush. Make sure that you use water based paints because they are easier to work with. If you want to know how to draw Buzz Lightyear then read my other article which shows you step-by-step instructions for drawing him.

I’m hoping to make my own buzz lightyear costume, but I have no idea where to start. I’m thinking about using cardboard for the structure and painting it on. Any tips? (if there’s any other way you know of making it, or if there’s a good site with instructions, that’d be great too).

I am excited to share with you my Buzz Lightyear costume. My friends and I are going as Toy Story characters for Halloween, and I decided to be Buzz Lightyear. The costume came out amazing!

Buzz Lightyear is a character from “Toy Story” who believes he is an actual space ranger and not a toy. The character has been popular since the movie’s release in 1995, and is still one of the most popular choices for Halloween costumes today, both for adults and children. Building your own costume will save you money and give you a unique costume that suits your body type.

Step 1: Buy a white astronaut suit. You can buy them at Halloween stores or online for about $50 (see Resources below).

Step 2: Add a purple strip to the bottom of the legs by cutting strips of fabric tape and taping them around each leg.

Step 3: Add details to the front of the suit by cutting out a white rectangle from cardboard and drawing the control panel buttons with colored markers. Attach this to the front of the suit with Velcro or fabric tape.

Step 4: Make wings out of cardboard by drawing two triangles that are 24 inches tall with rounded edges on them. Add details to these wings using colored markers or paints. Attach these wings to your back using Velcro or fabric tape so they can be removed easily when you are sitting down or indoors.

Step 5: Make Buzz’s logo out of felt by cutting out two
