This is a blog that teaches you how to make a pumpkin costume. I’m making this blog because halloween is coming up and I want to do something different. I’ve been wanting to make a pumpkin costume for quite a while now, but never really knew how. So with all this time on my hands during these summer holidays, I decided to make one!

The costume itself is pretty simple and easy to make, with items you can get at your local dollar store. You can probably get all the materials for under $10! The most complicated part of this project is cutting out the face hole and the eyes (and even that’s not too difficult). If you have any questions about the recipe or would like me to clarify any part of it please let me know in the comments section!

Steps

First, you need to gather the materials. You will need an orange paper lantern (or an orange paper bowl), an orange cardigan sweater, a set of green overalls, some green and brown paint, scissors, a piece of cardboard (the size of the bottom of your lantern or bowl), black paint, newspaper and tape.

Next, you will have to attach the bowl or the lantern to the overalls. First, you have to cover the bowl or lantern with newspaper so that it does not get damaged in the process. Then, you attach it to the overalls using tape. You may optionally use pins if you do not want to use tape. Do this carefully so that you do not puncture yourself with the pins.

Then, you need to make the eyes for your pumpkin costume. Get your cardboard and cut out two circles from it. Paint them black and let them dry completely before putting them on top of your costume’s bowl or lantern “head.”

Once they have dried completely, tape them onto your costume’s head using tape

I’ve always wanted to be a Pumpkin for Halloween. But I’ve never been able to find a pumpkin suit that’s as big or as beautiful as I have in my imagination. This year I decided to make my own.

I happened to have in my garage a polyester jacket and pants that were the perfect color orange, so I bought some poly foam and sculpted it into shape. Then I cut the foam with an electric knife and sanded the edges smooth.

I attached the foam pieces to the clothes with contact cement and added a few finishing touches with acrylic paints. The green stem just slides into place on top of the hat. I had a lot of fun being a pumpkin this year, and everyone else seemed to enjoy it too.

There are a million and one pumpkin costume tutorials on the internet, but they all suck. Here is how you make a pumpkin costume that doesn’t suck.

You will need:

1. Get a pumpkin

2. Carve out the inside of the pumpkin to make it hollow

3. Cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin for your head to fit through

4. Put the pumpkin on and see how it looks!
