For many people, becoming an ordained minister is a simple process. They complete the necessary requirements for their denomination and they are ordained without issue. For others, it’s not so easy. Some denominations are more difficult to join than others, requiring more formal religious education and experience before ordination. Others have more stringent theological requirements, and still others simply won’t recognize anyone who wasn’t ordained by one of their own approved clergy members.

But if you really want to become a minister, you may be able to work around these obstacles. There are online options that allow you to get ordained without going through a traditional denomination or getting any formal education at all.

How To Get Ordained Online

While the process of getting ordained online is easy and straightforward, there are some things to consider before you do it:

Your ordination may not be recognized by some churches or denominations. If you plan on being active in your local church, make sure that they will recognize your credentials before you go through with it. You can also check with your state government regarding the legalities of this in your area.

If you want to become an ordained minister, you would normally have to spend years getting a formal religious education. But there are some alternatives. You could join a church that does not require its ministers to have any formal religious education or complete any special training. The Universal Life Church (ULC) is one example. Or, if you do not want to join a church, you can choose from a variety of online ordination services which allow you to become ordained online in minutes.

In order to be ordained by the ULC, all that you have to do is fill out an online application and submit it. The ULC then sends you your credentials in the mail for free. Once you receive your credentials, you will be officially ordained by the ULC and can perform weddings, baptisms, funerals and other sacraments in any state of the United States and many foreign countries as well. If your aim is simply to become an officiant at weddings, this is probably sufficient. However, if you want to start a church or ministry, we recommend obtaining more extensive religious training before doing so.

There are several websites that offer online ordination services as well. Just type “online ordination

I’ve been receiving a lot of e-mails from people asking me how they can become ordained in the Universal Life Church. Since I have been ordained and have been running this website for a while now, I’ve decided to create a step-by-step guide on how you can become ordained with the Universal Life Church and officiate weddings, funerals, and other ceremonies.

Step 1: Go to www.themonastery.org/join_now.html

Step 2: Enter your basic information. You will be required to enter your name, address, city, state, zip code, country, phone number, e-mail address (optional), birth date (optional), Social Security Number (optional), gender (optional) and denomination or religion (optional). You can choose to enter these things or leave them blank.

Step 3: Read the ordination form & scroll down to the bottom of the page.

You are now an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church! The whole process takes less than five minutes and is completely free of charge!

The Ministerial Clothing Code

Ministerial clothing is optional. You may wear any style of professional or ordinary street clothing you wish. Be yourself. The key is to be comfortable and appear professional.

If you elect to wear the traditional black robe, you may want to consider some of the following:

• A black robe with a white collar and a cross pin (this is a very traditional look).

• A plain black robe, no collar or tie.

• A colored robe, preferably a light pastel color, with a white collar and cross pin. (This is usually worn by female ministers).

• A suit coat with a clerical collar.

If you decide to wear the clergy robe (cassock), you will also need a clergy shirt (alb) which can be worn under the cassock. The alb can also be worn without the robe for weddings, baptisms and funerals. When wearing clerical shirts, you should wear either a clerical collar or religious medals around your neck. The shirt and collar are both worn underneath your robes or vestments.

It’s the season for police costumes, whether you’re a man dressing up as a cop or a woman dressing up as a police officer. Police costumes are also popular for couples who want to go as cops and robbers.

Adult police costumes are available in all sizes, from plus size police costumes to young men’s sizes. Most often, police costume clothing consists of a navy blue top with a badge and shoulder patches, and matching pants. If you choose an adult cop costume that comes with handcuffs, remember that they are not real! Almost every adult police costume comes with a hat, but if it doesn’t and you have long hair, don’t forget to pull it back into a tight bun so you can wear the hat comfortably.

If you don’t like the traditional navy blue clothing of an adult cop costume, you can always opt for something different. For instance, instead of wearing a regular uniform with shirt and pants, try out a female police Halloween costume which includes shorts and tank top.

As for accessories for your adult police costume, most come with everything you need: hat, badge, belt with holster and gun (usually plastic). You can also buy replica handcuffs to complete your look; fake handcuffs are usually silver or black plastic or metal, though some may be
