This year, I wanted to create a truly scary costume. I was going as Oogie Boogie, the boogeyman. I hope this article helps you scare your friends and family with a costume of your own!

First, I created a “skeleton” out of a wire hanger and electrical tape. This skeleton allowed me to dress on top of it like normal. You can see how it looks in the picture below.

I then covered my body in green tights and a green shirt. My pants were also green so that it seemed like I didn’t have any legs.

I found some black gloves at an army surplus store and wore them over the tights. I painted my face with green face paint to cover my skin, then drew black veins on top of that with water-based makeup.

I bought some red LED lights from Adafruit and put them on top of the “spikes” on my head and around my neck like a collar. These were powered by two 9v batteries which were connected to the LEDs by wires sewn into the tights (and also taped to the skeleton).
