This is iron man costume. This tutorial will guide you step by step on how to make iron man suit out of paper, cardboard, and other materials to create my own Iron Man Mark VI suit. This prop replica of the Mark VI armor from the movie Iron Man 2 includes LED lighting, sound effects and motorized face slides up and reveals Tony Stark’s face.

The first thing to do was to build a frame that would fit over my body. I got a lot of suggestions from friends on how to create the body of Iron Man and what materials will be best suited for this project. I decided not to use cardboard since it won’t be as sturdy as it needs to be once fully assembled.

I started with a large piece of aluminum foil and cut it into a square shape which I then bent in half to form a triangular shape. I then taped the two pieces together at the top so they would stay in place while I was working on them. Afterward, I took some tape and wrapped it around all around where they connected which made them more stable when moving around or putting weight on them (such as when wearing shoes).

The next step was to cut out four strips of paper about 3 inches wide by 4 feet long each for arms and legs using an

Iron Man Suit is a high-tech fiction armor suit. The first ever Iron Man Suit was created by Tony Stark and Ho Yinsen. It was a life saving suit which not only saved Tony’s life but also gave him the power to fly and fight with the bad guys. This is what inspired me to make a similar suit for myself.

It took me more than 2 weeks to complete this project. I searched loads of websites and youtube videos to get an idea on how to build an iron man suit. I studied the anatomy of the suit, its properties, material used, etc., and then started building it using cardboard.

After building the body structure, I covered it with paper mache and painted it red. I used LED lights as eyes and Arc Reactor, installed speakers behind the face mask, added some mechanical parts which actually moved when I moved my hands or legs, fixed servos which opened the face mask and illuminated the eyes and Arc Reactor when turned on. The battery pack was attached at the back of the suit along with a button for turning it on/off.

In short, I had built a fully functional Iron Man Suit within my budget!

It’s always been my favorite superhero costume and I thought it would be really cool to make a real life one.

I spent quite a while researching into what kind of materials to use, how to cut them and how to assemble them without burning myself!

The first step was to create a full size foam template. I made this by starting off with a model of the suit in 3D Max and then exported the data into a program called Pepakura designer. This software allows you to unfold a 3D model into a 2D pattern consisting of triangles (known as pep files).

I printed these out scaled up to 1:1 size and taped them together. I then cut out the shapes from 1inch thick foam board and glued them together with some hot glue.
