Ode to Cleopatra 5 Ways To Bring Out Your Inner Goddess

There’s a little bit of Cleopatra in all of us. She was a goddess, a queen, and a woman who knew what she wanted and how to get it. And if you don’t believe me, just ask Marc Anthony.

With Halloween on the horizon, we’re taking a few tips from the queen herself on how to bring out our inner goddess this October. Whether you’re looking for an iconic Cleopatra costume for yourself or you want to dress up with your besties as the three fates, there are plenty of ways to channel your inner goddess for Halloween.

So grab your crown and your asp and get ready to channel the fierce female energy of one of history’s most powerful women with these five tips from yours truly:

BEAUTY IS PAIN: Don’t be afraid to take beauty risks this Halloween! Just because they didn’t have foundation in ancient Egypt doesn’t mean you have to stick to bare-faced basics when it comes to makeup. Try experimenting with bold shadows or bright lipstick this Halloween season and see if you can bring out your inner Cleopatra.

ENJOY YOUR ANIMALS: Animals were an important part of life in ancient Egypt, especially cats! While we definitely don’t recommend bringing any live

This Halloween, let’s get in touch with our inner goddess. This year we’re inspired by Cleopatra. The Egyptian queen had a style that is timeless and glamorous. She is known for her beauty, intelligence and power.

She is said to have used milk baths and crushed almonds to achieve her complexion, but you can take the less messy route of using a cleanser like Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash. It gently lathers away dirt while soothing your skin.

This Halloween, channel your inner goddess and be the epitome of feminine beauty.

From her captivating eyes to her hourglass figure, there are many reasons for us to love the infamous Egyptian queen.

But before you go trick-or-treating with your friends this weekend, take some time out of your day to get ready with our guide on how to bring out your inner goddess.

The first step to finding your inner goddess is to decide what you want to be. Do you want to be seductive, powerful and elegant like Cleopatra or are you more of a vixen like Eve? Once you decided what kind of goddess you want to be, it’s time to transform!

The second step is deciding if you want your costume to be historically accurate or simply inspired by the look. While I chose a more modern interpretation of Cleopatra’s style, I still managed to create an outfit that was true to her character. I paired a white pleated skirt with a sheer sweater and gold accessories. Because she is often associated with black, I added a black choker for a touch of mystery and sexy black heels. However, if you’re going for an authentic goddess look, check out these Egyptian-inspired accessories on Etsy.

The third step is all about your makeup! My favorite part about this look was creating my own Egyptian-style eyeliner. The key to recreating this look is a liquid eyeliner and a lot of patience. Starting from the outside corner of your eye, slowly draw the line outward until you reach the middle of your eyebrow. Then from the inner corner, go toward the middle of your eye connecting

There’s a lot of focus on Halloween costumes for women, but what about the men? As a man, it’s your duty to step up and create a really awesome costume this year. With that in mind, here are some ideas for you guys:
