In the movie Frozen, Elsa and Anna are beloved characters. One of the most popular costume choices for young girls is Elsa’s dress. As a mother, I have noticed that there are not many choices for younger children wanting to be Elsa for Halloween. It is either too expensive or too mature for toddlers. Here is how to make an Elsa costume for toddlers. Runners-up: Anna, Olaf, Snowman.

Supplies:

– tulle (at least two different shades of blue)

– glitter tulle (or fabric paint in silver)

– elastic band

– glue gun with extra glue sticks (I think I used about 2 dozen)

– rhinestones or other embellishments

– sewing machine and sewing supplies

– crochet hook

Method: Once you have created your pattern and cut out all your pieces, it is time to sew them together! This can be done by hand or on a sewing machine. I prefer a sewing machine as it saves time and creates a more professional look. The sleeves are sewn together first, then the main body of the dress. Next, you will add the sleeve cuffs and neckline lace collar to the dress. Finally you will add the back bow and front snowflake brooch.”

If you are like us and have a princess obsessed little one at your house, you may be wondering how to make an Elsa costume for toddlers.

We have been on the hunt for a reasonably priced Elsa costume for toddlers, and are having no luck. The ones we find are either too expensive or seem cheaply made. So we decided to make our own Elsa costume for toddlers!

Here is what we used to make our Elsa costume for toddlers:

White Fleece Fabric (used coupons and was able to get this on sale)

Blue Fleece Fabric (already had this fabric in my craft closet)

Glitter Fabric Glue (I bought this at Walmart)

2 – 3 Inch Pieces of Hook and Loop Tape (I used leftover that I had from another project)**

1 – 15 Inch by 1/4 Inch Elastic Band (I used this because I didn’t have any ribbon on hand)**

We started off by cutting a piece of white fleece fabric into a cape shape. We just sort of folded it into a triangle shape and cut it out. Then we cut about a one inch strip off of the bottom part of the cape so that it would look more like the Elsa dress. Next, we used glitter

It was only a matter of time before Disney’s Frozen took over the Halloween scene. The highest grossing animated film of all time has been out for less than a year and we have already seen our fair share of Elsa and Anna costumes.

Even though both Princesses are equally popular, my guess is that Elsa is going to be the go-to character this Halloween. She also has the benefit of a stand-out dress. Anna’s dress looks pretty simple compared to Elsa’s Ice Blue gown.

Elsa Costume For Toddlers

The following photos show what I believe is the best DIY Elsa costume for toddlers. It’s not exact but it’s close enough to capture the essence of the character. The goal is to make it really simple and eliminate any sewing work.

The dress is made from a combination of Tulle and Shiny Blue fabric (see materials list below). I cut out long strips of fabric, tied them in knots and tied them on to an elastic band. I used an elastic band instead of attaching each strip directly to the vest since it would have been too much work with too many strips. I also thought it would make it easier to wash at the end of Halloween season.

Here’s a really easy tutorial on how to make an Elsa costume for toddlers. You can probably make one in a day or two, and the materials are easy to find.

Here is your step by step guide to making an Elsa costume for toddlers. The best part? There are no sewing machines involved! Gather your supplies and let’s get started!

Supplies:

* 1 blue dress

* 2 yards of sparkle tulle

* 7 white craft feathers

* hot glue gun and glue sticks

1. Take your blue dress and trim off the sleeves.

2. Cut out a V-neck in the front of the dress about 5 inches down from the neckline. It should be about 3 to 4 inches wide, depending on the size of your child.

3. Cut a small slit in the back of the dress about 5 inches down from the neckline, on each side of the zipper seam. Make sure it does not pucker or pull when you cut it. Trim away any excess fabric from each side so you are left with a slight slit. This will help make it easier to get on and off later.

4. Using hot glue, attach one feather at a time onto the bottom edge of the V-neckline in the front of the dress and along each slit in the back, as shown above.”””
