Halloween is getting closer and closer, which means everyone is scrambling to come up with a costume that will be sure to wow their friends. Here are the top five trends of the 2014 season as reported by the National Retail Federation:

1. Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman has been making her comeback since the new movie was announced, although this year she has made her way into the top costumes for adults after being popular for kids in 2013.

“She’s a classic character, but she’s also become more popular by appearing in DC Comics’ Justice League,” said Kathryn A. Reid, associate professor of communications at American University. “Plus, she’s powerful and strong.”

2. Batman

Batman has been consistently in the top-five costumes for both kids and adults since 2011. The superhero has been made popular again with all three movies of the trilogy being released within the past few years; The Dark Knight Rises hit theaters in 2012 and brought superhero fans back to theaters once more.

Welp, it’s that time again. Yes, I know, it seems like the last one was just yesterday but the kids are back in school and there’s a crispness to the air so it’s got to be fall already.
