Top 10 Fun and Inexpensive Spooky Halloween Costumes

Halloween is here, and you still don’t have a costume idea. You could go as a sexy version of anything, but that’s so last year. So what else can you do? It’s time to get creative with your Halloween costumes! Here are some fun Halloween costumes that are easy to make, and won’t break the bank.

1. The Corpse Bride: This movie by Tim Burton is reminiscent of the old classic Frankenstien movies we all love. The characters are so unique and spooky, but at the same time kind of sad. The corpse bride character is particularly fun because you can wear a wedding dress (or any old white dress), blue face paint, and carry around a bouquet made of fake flowers (or real if you want to be able to keep them after halloween).

Halloween is just around the corner, and with it comes the rush of finding a costume that fits your personality. However, many people struggle with finding an outfit that is both fun and inexpensive, so they end up just wearing the same old thing year after year.

Whether you’re a kid, a teen, or an adult, going to Halloween parties and trick-or-treating is always fun! This year, instead of spending a lot of money on a costume from the store that everyone else will be wearing, save some money by creating your own homemade Halloween costume.

Here are some easy and creative ideas for your spooky costume:

1. Emo Kid

Supplies:

-Black skinny jeans

-Black long sleeve shirt

-Black eyeliner and mascara (looks best if you are willing to cry for this costume)

-A purple or red bandana or a scarf of some sort

2. Pirate

Supplies:

-Some sort of piratey outfit (you can get these in the halloween stores for about 20 dollars, or make your own by paying about 5 dollars for a striped t shirt and black pants)

-Eye patch (anywhere from 1 to 10 dollars)

-Sword or gun (10 to 20 dollars depending on where you buy it, the dollar store sells rubber swords)

3. Corpse Bride/Groom

Supplies:

-Old wedding dress or old suit (check out thrift stores)

-White face paint or face powder and a little red lipstick (you can buy this at most drugstores and stores like Walmart, Target, etc.)

With a little black dress and some white face paint, this costume is easy to throw together so you can focus on more important things like the party itself. Add a veil and black or dark red lipstick to take this costume to the next level.

2. A Day of the Dead Costume

This look is a great way to use up some old makeup supplies and make something new! The beauty blogger in the video below uses an old Halloween face painting kit to create her look. She also covers how she created her hair flowers, which are a simple way to make this costume pop even more!

This Halloween, you can either go to the party as a pumpkin, or you can wow your friends and family with an original, creative and spooky costume. We’ve compiled ten of our favorite costumes into one list. Each costume is easy to make or buy, and won’t break the bank!

Use easy to find items like tights, a white blouse and shoes to create this corpse bride costume. You will also need face make-up, nail polish and hair dye.

Use a mix of black and blue face make-up to color your face. Apply the darker colors around your eyes, on your cheekbones and jawline. Use the lighter colors for your nose, cheek and forehead. Add blood red lipstick for an extra creepy effect.

To give your skin a truly dead look, use dark blue or black nail polish on your fingers and toes.

The corpse bride costume is not complete without white hair. Either use white hair spray or dye your hair white to complete the look.
