Becoming a Child Mermaid Here’s How You Do It

What you need to become a mermaid:

1. A swimming costume. It works best if it’s sparkly and has a cute, fishy tail.

2. A long, blonde wig, with two braids tied at the ends with ribbons or bows.

3. A seashell headband to hold your hair in place.

4. Starfish earrings that dangle and shine when they catch the light.

5. An iridescent necklace of pearls and moonstones, which match the shells on your headband, earrings, and bracelet.

6. Gold sandals (that look like flippers) to wear when you’re not in the pool or ocean!

1. Get a mermaid costume. This step is obvious, but since this is my first blog post I’d better go over it anyway. You can’t become a mermaid unless you have a mermaid costume! From what I’ve seen, most mermaids opt for the “underwear costume” method, where they wear their regular underwear under the tail. This works fine, but I personally recommend a bodysuit-style costume. It fits better, and it’s easier to put on and take off.

2. Find a pool. Honestly, this part isn’t really necessary (unless you’re doing “mermaiding” for exercise), but it sure helps establish that whole “swimming through the ocean” vibe. If you don’t have a pool at home, try to find one in your neighborhood or in a nearby park. If that still doesn’t work, look for ponds or lakes! Just make sure there aren’t any fish in them…no sense scaring the poor things with your real-mermaid tail!

3. Become familiar with the pool before swimming in it as a mermaid! Maybe this sounds weird, but if you’re not comfortable swimming in your pool as a human, then how can you be comfortable swimming there as

Becoming a kid mermaid is a dream come true for many girls. There are several ways to become a child mermaid, including buying a child-sized mermaid costume and wearing it as often as possible. If you have the opportunity to wear your costume in public, make sure that you are accompanied by an adult.

The first step to becoming a kid mermaid is to buy or make a child-sized mermaid costume. It’s best if your costume includes a wig and makeup, but these can be added later. Don’t worry about getting one of those big, heavy costumes that grownups use – you’ll grow into those soon enough!

Once your costume is ready, wear it every chance you get! You can put on your costume just to sit around the house and read books or watch TV; this is especially fun when you’re home sick from school. Be sure to practice moving around with your tail on; try swimming across the room (you can do it!), going up and down the stairs and even riding your bike.

When you get comfortable wearing your costume at home, try taking it out in public – visits to the library or mall are good places to start. Be sure to bring an adult with you who will help keep you safe

Ariel was the first Disney Princess I ever identified with. When she wasn’t dreaming of ditching her fins for legs, she was swimming in the ocean and having adventures. She had a best friend who was a fish. She had a boat. And she had an amazing singing voice.

What little girl wouldn’t want to be Ariel?

Well, last Halloween, my daughter asked if we could dress up as mermaids together. How could I say no?

I did some research on how to make a mermaid tail at home, and it turns out it’s not that difficult! I decided to write about our experience to give other parents step-by-step instructions on how to make your own DIY mermaid costume for kids (or adults!).

Step 1: Cut the fins from your Disney Ariel costume. I know, it’s sad, but you have to cut the pretty fins from your costume. It will be okay because you are going to replace them with sparkly mermaid fins.

Step 2: Sew new mermaid fins onto the bottom of your costume. If you don’t know how to sew, ask someone who does.

Step 3: Get some fishnet stockings and cut off a piece that is big enough to cover your face and head like a scarf or hood.

Step 4: Use black eyeliner or black eyeshadow to make a fin on top of your forehead just above where your eyebrows should be. You can draw in some scales if you want too.

Mermaid tails are all the rage these days, and it is an awesome, fun trend! Kids love to pretend they are mermaids, and if you have a daughter, chances are she has asked you to buy her a mermaid tail. There are a lot of different options out there to choose from, so we are here to help narrow it down for you. We have done the research and created this guide for you so that you can pick the best mermaid tail for your child.

The Velcro fin in this beautiful mermaid tail is easy for a child to put on herself and take off herself. The Velcro fin is also easy for parents to put on their kid or take off their kid. The monofin creates an authentic looking (and feeling) mermaid tail for kids who want to look like real mermaids. This is a great option for kids who want to pretend they are swimming like mermaids in their backyard pools or splash pads.

This is perhaps the easiest option that still makes your kid look like a mermaid. These beautiful leggings with the scales sewn on give the illusion of being a real mermaid tail while still allowing your child full mobility and freedom in her legs so she can run around and

So you want to become a child mermaid? It’s not as difficult as it seems. Here are some tips on how to begin your transformation into a little mermaid:

First, the tail. This is probably the most daunting part, especially if you don’t know how to sew. However, if you have an old pair of tights or leggings, it may be easier than you think! Simply cut the legs off, leaving a tube at the top wide enough for your hips and waist. Then cut a slit in the front and back of the tube wide enough for you to slide your legs through. Lastly, make flukes (fins) at the bottom out of scrap fabric! If you are feeling extra creative, you can use sequins or glitter glue to decorate the flukes.

Next comes top – again, if you don’t know how to sew, this is going to be easier than it looks! For this part of your costume, get an old white shirt and cut it into a crop top/belly shirt (if it is too long) or even a bikini top. If your
