HOW TO HOST A COSTUME DANCE PARTY

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love getting dressed up in a costume, and I love dancing. So naturally, I hosted a dance party for Halloween in the past. If you want to throw your own costume dance party, here are some tips on how to host it:

THEME: First thing you’ll have to do is decide on a theme. Should it be sci-fi? Horror? Fables? Fairy tales? Nautical? After you’ve decided on the theme, you’ll need to come up with a name for your party. Remember: Themes are not just for decoration! You’ll need to come up with an invitation and maybe even some icebreaker activities that fit with the theme of your party.

INVITATIONS: You can keep things simple and use email to send out invitations, or you can go all out and make physical invitations like I did. Make sure your invitation has all the important information on it—name of event, date, time, location, etc.—and don’t forget the RSVP information! For my party I printed out postcards with the theme’s name and details on them, which doubled as invitations and decorations for the event.

It’s October, which means it’s time to start planning your Halloween party! When it comes to hosting a costume dance party, there is no shortage of creative ways to make your event a success.

One of the first decisions you’ll have to make is which costume theme to select. The most popular choices for Halloween are witches and vampires. But you can also consider other themes such as pirates and wizards.**

Halloween is one of the best times of the year. Not only do you have the opportunity to dress up, eat a ton of candy and party all night long, but you can also show off your creativity through your costume! Many people look forward to this festive time of year and spend hours brainstorming and creating their costumes, so it’s important that the party-host knows how to throw a good party. A lot of work goes into planning events such as these and I hope that this will help inspire you to throw your own dance party!

The theme for my friends’ birthday bash was “Halloween & Hip Hop”. We invited our guests to dress up in hip hop themed costumes while at the same time incorporating some spooky elements. Everyone had a great time dancing all night long with their best friends in costumes like zombies or vampires (and even Michael Jackson!). It was an awesome experience that I hope we get to repeat next year.

Some people may argue that Halloween parties are too cliche and basic, but I disagree completely! There are so many different ways you could go about throwing one – from decorating your home with cobwebs or pumpkins on October 31st to hosting an epic costume contest where the winner gets a prize. The possibilities

Costumes are a must for Halloween, and any costume party is a must-attend. Here’s how to throw the ultimate costume party, from decorating your space to picking the perfect outfit for you.

Morticia Addams Costume

She’s the queen of Halloween! Morticia Addams has been inspiring stylish costumes since the character was created in 1938. Yandy has a wide selection of Morticia Addams costumes that are sure to make you look drop dead gorgeous this Halloween.

Having a good Halloween party is all in the planning. You can have the best decorations, food and drinks but without the right music it will fall flat. So here are some tips on picking out the right songs and making a playlist to keep your guests dancing all night long!

First start by selecting songs that everyone knows and loves. You want people to sing along and feel comfortable with what you are playing. Next select songs that tell a story about Halloween. The Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett is a great example of this. It is one of those songs that everyone knows and it tells the story of some fun Halloween creatures getting together for a dance party!

Finally make sure you have some upbeat dance tunes like Thriller by Micheal Jackson or Ghost Town by Adam Lambert (my personal favorite). These are both great examples of good Halloween themed dance songs. If you want to go back in time then try out Bobby Brown’s Every Little Step I Take or even Van Halen’s Hot For Teacher.

In conclusion, if you follow these simple steps you will be on your way to hosting a spooky dance party that everyone will love!

Happy Haunting 🙂

So, what’s more fun than having a costume party? I don’t know either. My favorite part is coming up with the perfect costume. I’m a pretty crafty person, so I usually try to make my own costume. Here are some craft ideas from this year’s costume party:

-Morticia Addams: This one was pretty easy for me. I had the long black dress and the white lace collar already, but you can find them at most thrift stores. Just make sure it’s long enough to look like you’re really trying!

-Catwoman: I bought a black leotard and black tights from Target and made an eye mask with some leftover fabric. Then I cut out a cat tail from felt and sewed it to the back of the leotard. For her ears I used some headbands that were on clearance at Hobby Lobby and added the ears by cutting them out of felt as well.

-Raggedy Ann & Andy: These costumes are so much fun! My friends Rachael and Ben went as Raggedy Ann & Andy. They found red yarn at Hobby Lobby and used it to make wigs for each other by hot gluing it onto some old stocking caps they had lying around.

Morticia Addams is a character from the T.V. show The Addams Family. She was played by Carolyn Jones in the original series and by Anjelica Huston in the movies (which is the version I am familiar with). Morticia is a pale, slender woman who wears long black dresses and always has her hair coiffed into an elaborate style.

The best way to achieve this look is to wear all black clothing—especially long black skirts. You can find inexpensive long skirts at thrift stores or online retailers like Amazon. If you want to go all out to look exactly like Morticia, you may be able to find a vintage dress in a thrift store or via an online auction site like eBay.

For your hair, you will need lots of bobby pins, hairspray and a large-barreled curling iron (or several). My hair is too short for the hairstyle that Morticia wears so I used clip-on extensions instead. If you have long hair, you could probably just curl it without needing any extensions but if your hair is shoulder length like mine, you will probably need some extensions if you want it to be as long as Morticia’s.
