Make sure that the white parts of it are covered in dirt stains and that the checkered pattern is not too perfect.

2. Get three or four plain black t-shirts and cut them into strips that go from your shoulders to your waistline. There should be at least two strips on each shoulder for a total of four strips of fabric that go over your arms and shoulders.

3. Cut out some red stripes from red fabric, or find some red striped fabric somewhere so you can cut out long strips of material at least 10 feet long (they will be used later).

4. Wear all black pants and shoes/boots with white socks underneath them as well as plain black gloves

Oogie Boogie Costume Materials

You need:

A long sleeved shirt (black preferably)

A pair of trousers (black again)

Strong glue (not superglue)

Lots of felt in different colors (lots of green and black, also red, yellow and brown)

Fabric paint (green, black and red are good colors to have)

Black thread/yarn/string

Felt fabric is best as it is thin and cheap. It’s also easy to cut into shapes and sew or glue together. You will want at least 2 yards of fabric for each color that you want to use for Oogie Boogie’s body – much more if you plan on making the legs separately from the arms.
